Research On Environmental Accounting Information Disclosure Of Chinese Nonferrous Metal Industry Listed Companies

In the age of industrial revolution,social economy realizes development at high speed,meanwhile,the global natural environment resource shows a trend of accelerating exhaustion,pollution frequently occurring,the call for environmental protection is growing louder.Being the main responsibility of environmental problem,heavy-polluting enterprise has the obligation of contributing to economic and environmental sustainable maintenance.Nonferrous metal industry is not only the pillar industry of our country,but also one of the 16 polluting industries regulated by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.Therefore,it is necessary to regulate the form and content of environmental accounting information disclosure of listed companies in nonferrous metals industry.This paper is based on researching status of environmental accounting in various countries,by using statistical analysis with perspective of disclosure form and content,study 66 non-ferrous metals listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen.It is found that companies are more inclined to release favorable environmental accounting information,with serious selective phenomenon;lack of unified form;less practical;Lack of third-party authentication.On this basis,the causes of these problems are clarified;moreover the forms and contents of environmental accounting information disclosure of non-ferrous metal industry listed companies are regulated.Afterwards,we select Chalco as a typical case to analyze the environmental accounting information disclosure from its prospectus;CSR report;annual report issued since 2008.With the current disclosure mode of Chalco,comparing the advantages of adopting new system,this paper is concluded by putting forward proposal to ensure the implementation of the environmental accounting information disclosure system of China's nonferrous metal listed companies.
