The interaction between cells and materials is the most basic scientific problem in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.The study of the interaction between cells and materials mainly focuses on the properties of the biological material surface and the biological reaction with the material.Cell behavior on nanosurface is mainly influenced by surface properties including wettability,topography,roughness,charge density and surface chemistry.the patterned structure has the effect on guiding the growth of cells,which has potential applications in tissue engineering.This paper mainly uses two simple and efficient methods to prepare ordered patterned structures of halloysite(HNTs)and explore the influence of patterned structures on cell growth.Details as follows:The purified HNTs aqueous suspension is injected into the slits-like confined space which consist of pyramid-glass to form a gradient square ring pattern structure.The first to form is the outermost ring,and the outermost ring has the largest width and thickness.The width of the ring is proportional to the concentration of HNTs aqueous suspension.Under the scanning electron microscope,the HNTs nanotubes were clearly arranged in the pattern formed by the high concentration HNTs dispersions(2 and 4,wt %)and the HNTs particles in the low concentration(0.5 and 1,wt %)were disorderly arranged.hMSCs are significantly grow with the gradient square pattern of HNTs from the concentration of 2% and 4%,and lower concentration of HNTs aqueous suspension has no same phenomenon.While the HNTs dispersion dries on the glass slide,another glass slide moves slowly above the liquid level.A dense stripe pattern is prepared by this simple and efficient method.The width of the stripe pattern prepared is directly proportional to the concentration of the HNTs aqueous suspension.Scanning electron microscopy was used to observe the stripe pattern formed by the HNTs aqueous suspension in different concentrations.The HNTs particles of the pattern formed by the low concentration HNTs aqueous suspension(1%)were disorderly arranged but the HNTs particles were arranged in an orderly manner at high concentrations.Mouse myoblast grows along the stripe direction in each sample pattern,and cell orientation arrangement is particularly evident in the stripe pattern formed by the 5% HNTs aqueous suspension.
