The preparation method of cationic emulsion is simple,and the required raw materials are also easy to obtain.The polymer membrane is hydrophobic and has good film forming properties.The cationic emulsion enhances the filter paper,which can improve the mechanical properties of the filter paper and give the filter paper excellent oil-water separation performance.However,a single-structured polymer cannot meet the actual needs.Therefore,using the“Lotus effect”,adding inorganic particles to the above polymer emulsion,further,the surface of the filter paper is modified to increase its surface roughness.A micro-nanometer graded coarse structure was constructed to increase the oil-water separation efficiency of the filter paper.In this paper,the cationic polyacrylate copolymer emulsion which used as surface sizing agent was prepared via the process of semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerization,in which the surface system was composed of cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide?CTAB?and nonionic emulsifier.Styrene?St?and butyl acrylate?BA?were used as main monomer.The influence of reactive emulsifier structure on the properties of polymer emulsions and filter paper properties after dipping was discussed.A laser particle size analyzer was used to characterize the particle size and distribution of the self-made emulsions.Surface morphology and water static contact angle of the paper before and after dipping were measured and characterized by SEM and OCA-4.0 surface tensionmeters.The results showed that the emulsion can make paper have good water resistance and mechanical properties.When ER-10is used as a nonionic emulsifier in combination with a cationic emulsifier,the water resistance and mechanical properties of paper were enhanced significantly.Paper static contact angle to water was 115.9°.Coarse-grained cellulose-SiO2 composite particles were prepared by sol-gel phase inversion method.Spraying the emulsion to the filter paper which had been deposited compssiti particles to gain an oil-water seperation filter paper.The influence of mass ration of cellulose solution on the average particle size of the composite particles was discussed,and the influence of particle size and particle addition on the water resistance of the filter paper was investigated.Oil-water separation efficiency of the filter paper was calculated by filtering the oil-water mixture,and the effect of the amount of the particles and the type of oil on the oil-water separation efficiency of the filter paper was investigated.The results show that the best performance of the oil-water separation filter can be obtained when the diameter of composite particles is 13.9?m and the addition amount is 8%.At this time,the static contact angle of the filter paper to water is 143.7°,The separation efficiency of a mixture of alkane and water can recch 99.7%.Tetraethyl orthosilicate?TEOS?and methyl triethoxysilane?MTES?were used as precursors to prepare nano-SiO2 particles with hydrophobic group-CH3 on the surface by sol-gel method.The amount of TEOS and the ratio of TEOS and MTES on the average particle size of the SiO2 particles were investigated.The prepared nano-SiO2 particles were blended with a cationic styrene-acrylic emulsion,impregnated with filter paper,and a"micro-nano"combination structure was constructed on the surface of the filter paper in order to further improve the oil-water separation efficiency of the filter paper.The effects of different nano-SiO2 particles on the surface microstructure,static contact angle and oil-water separation efficiency of oil-water separation filter paper were investigated.The results show thatwith the increase of the amount of SiO2 particles added,the static contact angle of water-separation filter paper to water increases,and the oil-water separation efficiency increases.When the addition amount of SiO2 particles is 1%,the static contact angle of the water-separation filter paper to water reaches 148.4°,and the separation efficiency of the mixed liquid of different oil?hexadecane,gasoline,diesel,kerosene?and water is 99.8%,99.6%,99.1%,98.4%,respectively.
