The molecular nanomagnets that exhibit the magnetic bistability, such as discretesingle-molecule magnets(SMMs)and one-dimensional single-chain magnets(SCMs),have been focused by many researchers due to the underlying application for data storage and quantum computing in recent years.Particularly, the challenges of the rational designs and synthesis for molecule magnets through the molecular and crystal engineering have attracted considerable interests. It is important to enhance intrachain magnetic interactions by modifying the metal centers. Moreover, the interchain magnetic interaction should be minimized to ensure the SMMs and SCMs.Constructing zero-or one-dimensional compounds and exploring the effects of the structure and magnetic properties by adjusting building blocks, ligands and spin centers provide a large number of experimental data for the study of low-dimensional molecule magnets. The main researches are as follows:(1)Four cyanide-bridged 0D clusters 1-4 were synthesized by adopting the building blocks([Bu4N][Fe(Tp)(CN)3] and [Bu4N][Fe(Tp*)(CN)3]),bidentate-chelating ligand(5-amino-1,10-phenanthroline)and transition metal ions(Co II,Ni II and Mn II).Compounds 1and 2 exhibit ferromagnetic coupling interactions without single-molecule magnet behavior.Compounds 3 and 4 display antiferromagnetic behaviors.(2)Five cyanide-bridged compounds 5-9 were obtained via self-assemble of the shortor long-bridged bidentate ligand(1,1-methylenebis-1H-imidazole and 1,1-(1,4-Butanediyl)bis(imidazole)),the building blocks([Bu4N][Fe(Tp)(CN)3] and[Bu4N][Fe(pz Tp)(CN)3])and transition metal ions(Co Ⅱ,Ni Ⅱ and Mn II).Compound 5 is two-dimensional network and compound 6 is one-dimensional chain.Compounds 7-9 belong to one-dimensional chain structures.Magnetic studies indicate that both compounds 5 and 6display ferrimagnetic behaviors.Compounds 7 and 8 show ferromagnetic interactions and compound 9 exhibits antiferromagnetic interactions.Among them, compound 8 is accompanied with slow magnetic relaxation as a spin glass due to the large anisotropy for Ni Ⅱ ions and the non-negligible interchain antiferromagnetic behaviors.
