Numerical machine tool is being developed towards high efficiency and high precision in recent years.As static and dynamic performance and machining precision of a machine tool essentially depend on structural characteristics of the critical components,it is necessary to attach much importance to structural design of critical components in machine-tool industry.Topology optimization,shape optimization and measurements optimization are most commonly used structural optimization methods.But because these methods have different focus,it is necessary to select suitable method to accomplish structural optimization of machine parts according to their structural features.On this account,effect of main components of High Speed Numerical Lathe on static and dynamic characteristics of the whole machine was studied in this paper.Then,appropriate structural optimization methods were applied to optimize structure of some key components.Main researches in this paper are as followed:Firstly,motor function and performance requirements were analysed to determine technical requirements of EET100 numerical lathe.Then,overall configuration and structural of components which satisfied the technical requirements were designed.On this basis,structural features were analysed.Then,analysed and optimization procedure,objective of which was meeting technical requirements,was put forward,combining topology optimization,shape optimization and measurements optimization.Then,according to the structural optimization procedure above,statistical characteristics of whole tool machine were analysed.Then,statistical characteristics of main components,such as spindle,spindlebox,the base,turret and saddle,were extracted from the results of whole machine analyzing.And dynamic characteristics of main components were analysed too.According to the statistical and dynamic analyzing results,some components which did not satisfied the technical requirements were identified as the critical components that should be optimized.Finally,the critical components above were optimized.As for spindle unit,measurement optimization of spindle unit was proceeded.First of all,some feature sizes that had great effect on static and dynamic statistics of spindle unit were identified through sensitivity analysis.Then,basing on surface respond method,goal-driven optimization was carried out.As for the spindlebox,topology optimization was applied to it.Then,measurements optimization was carried out on the spindlebox after topology optimization.As for the base,its topology form was redesigned through topology optimization,and some redundant materials were removed.Then,reasonable rib plate and lightening hole were settled through shape optimization method.On this basis,feature measurements of the base were optimized.
