As one of the five major projects of "Made in China 2025",intelligent manufacturing has put forward more and more requirements for the production automation of the machining industry.As the main body of the CNC machining process,the state of the cutting tool has an important influence on the processing efficiency and the quality of the product.Therefore,it is an inevitable choice for promoting automatic production in mechanical processing industry and enhancing intelligent control of production process.to study the on-line monitoring method of tool wear for CNC batch processing and to develop the corresponding on-line monitoring system of tool wear for CNC batch processing.With the support from key projects of the National High-Tech R&D Program of China(863 Program)(No.2014AA041506),National Natural Science Foundation of China(No.51475059)and National Key R&D Program of China(No.2017YFF0207903),an on-line monitoring method and system of tool wear for CNC batch processing based on cutting power are studied in this paper,which have far-reaching significance for improving the intellectualization and informatization level of China's manufacturing industry.Firstly,The mapping relationship between cutting power and tool wear and cutting parameters is studied.The relationship between cutting power and tool flank wear and the relationship between cutting power and cutting parameters is analyzed,respectively.On this basis,a cutting power model of tool wear monitoring for CNC turning and CNC milling in variable cutting conditions has been developed based on the integration of Taguchi Method and Response Surface Method.Secondly,a tool wear on-line monitoring method,which can deal with variable cutting parameters,by continuously updating monitoring threshold of cutting power signal is presented.This method mainly includes the following key steps: processing power signal by the moving average anti-pulse interference filtering based wavelete packet,identifying the status of CNC machine tool by integrating the power information and cutting parameters information,determining the statue of cutting tool by cutting power model and real-time cutting power.Thirdly,a tool wear on-line monitoring system for CNC batch processing based on the method is developed.The overall framework of the system is combed,then the software and hardware platform is set up respectively.The implementation of the software function modules,including the serial communication module,the processing parameter reading module,the data management module and the display interface module,is introduced in detail after that.Finally,in order to verify the effectiveness and practicability of the method and system,the on-line monitoring method and system of tool wear for CNC batch processing based on cutting power are applied to batch processing of CNC turning and CNC milling.
