Shearer is a common device in coal mine,but since its complex working condition and large-load,parts of the equipment are very prone to damage.As an important component of cutting,the pick fails frequently while working,the cutting performance directly affects the efficiency of coal mining,the cost of operation and the working intensity of coal miner.In addition to the influence of the material characteristics of the pick,the cutting parameters in the working process are also the main factors affecting the cutting performance and life.Therefore,reasonable cutting parameters can effectively improve the cutting performance and service life of picks.The main purpose of this paper can be described as simulating the shearer coal cutting process by using finite element analysis software ABAQUS and fatigue analysis software FE-SAFE.The effect of working condition parameters on the cutting performance and service life is analyzed.Based on the dynamic and static characteristics,the cutting parameters are optimized to provide reference for the design and use of pick.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The ABAQUS dynamic algorithm is used to simulate and analyze cutting process of cutting coal.The influence of cutting speed,cutting depth and cutting angle on the stress field is studied.The results show that with the increase of cutting speed and cutting depth,the cutting stress increases.As the cutting angle increases,the stress of the pick decreases first and then increases,and minimum stress at 45 degrees.(2)Thermal-stress analysis of cutting coal process would be studied by operating ABAQUS finite element analysis software.The influence of cutting speed,cutting depth and cutting angle on the temperature field is studied.The results show that with the increase of cutting speed and cutting depth,the temperature increases.As the cutting angle increases,the temperature of the pick decreases first and then increases,and minimum temperature at 45 degrees.(3)Using the modal analysis section of ABAQUS to analysis of changes of various modes and understand the dynamic characteristics of pick in the low order modes,then compare with the excitation frequency in the operation process.The results show that the lower order resonance will not occur,so the probability of failure of pick resonance is low.(4)The structural modeling of the pick and the static analysis would be studied by operating finite element analysis software ABAQUS,according to the stress and displacement distribution to determine the dangerous position,the stress results were read by FE-SAFE and the corresponding fatigue analysis would be carried out.Finally,the life distribution cloud map and the distribution of dangerous area are obtained.The results show that the minimum fatigue life of the pick is concentrated on the joint between the cemented carbide head and the pick body.
