Dental resin composite is a kind of dental restorative materials,it was composed of two main components, organic resin matrix and inorganic filler.Inorganic filler as a component,it had a very significant impact on the performance of dental composite. Therefore people pay more and more attention to inorganic filler. So this article mainly in the aspect of inorganic filler for the following research:(1)Barium glass powder(BGP)was prepared,usingγ-MPS surface modification, and with FT-IR and TGA analysis of the surface modification effect. The effects ofγ-MPS concentration, filler fraction and particle size on the performance of dental compositewere evaluated. The results showed that:whenγ-MPS concentration was0.4wt%,the performance of dental composite was best. With the increase of BGP content, flexural strength and elastic modulus increased, wear height and volume shrinkage ratio decreased. When the filler fraction was 30wt%,X-ray resistance ability of composite was according with the standard for clinical application.Small size of BGP as filler, the performance of dental composite was superior to large size BGP.(2)Silicon powder(SP)of surface modification as filler, effect of particle size and its distribution, filler fraction on the performance of dental composite was studied. The result of studies showed that:with the increase of amount of micro silicon powder, flexural strength and elastic modulus of dental composite increased gradually, they were maximum when filling amount of 75wt%,and wear height and volume shrinkage ratio was decreased then increased, when filling amount of 73wt%.they were minimum.Small particle size of SP2 and SP3 as filler, the performance of dental composite was obviously better than large particle size of SP1.Three particle size of silica powder were mixed,10wt%of SP1 and 50wt%SP2 mixed, flexural strength and elastic modulus of dental composite were the highest,50wt%of SP1 and10wt%of SP2 mixed, height of wear of dental composite is the lowest, the volume shrinkage rate was minimal.(3)In order to form a porous structures, gas phase silica was sintered on three kinds of sintering temperature,by scanning electron microscopy to find the best sintering temperature.Influence of the morphology on mechanical strength, wear resistance of dental composite was evaluated.Studies showed that after sintering on1300℃,silica surface could form porous structure.Comparing porous gas phase SiO2,BGP,SP filler filler filling composite resin can be concluded that the porous gas phase SiO2 filler can significantly enhance the mechanical strength, but does not have an advantage in terms of wear resistance and volume shrinkage ratio.(4)BGP,SP,gas phase silica filler were mixed as filler, effect of the mixed filler on the properties of dental composite was studied.BGP2 and SP3 as hybrid filler, flexural strength and elastic modulus of dental composite were supreme, and better than single BGP2 and SP3 as filler;BGP1 and SP1 as hybrid filler, height of wear of dental composite was the lowest, wear resistance was best, and wear resistance is better than that of SP1 filled composite resin but worse than BGP1 filled composite resin;BGP1 and SP2 as hybrid filler, volume shrinkage of dental composite was minimum, and less than BGP1 and SP2 separate filled composite resin. Thus BGP,silicon powder in different combinations, could optimize the different performance of dental composite.(5)The dispersion of inorganic filler in the resin matrix and the wear mechanism in the process of wearwere studied by FESEM of fracture surface and wear surface of dental composite.Studies showed that if mechanical properties of the composite resin was good,it could see in theFESEM images, inorganic filler dispersed in resin better.FESEM analysis of wear surface, the wear mechanismof dental composite was more than a kind of wear, but the outcome of combined action of abrasive wear and fatigue wear.
