Under the background of energy-saving emission reduction plan proposed by "12th Five-Year Plan",what is the concrete influences among the energy consumption structure, foreign direct investment policy, urbanization process and environmental pollution?Based on this, the solutions of these problems is conductive to local governments to formulate effective environmental protection policies and plan sustainable economic development modes. And whether it can effectively control environmental pollution and achieve a win-win situation between economic growth and ecological environment is not only crucial to Chinese sustainable development, but also has an important significance for the continuation of the entire human society. This paper firstly analyzes and summarizes relevant literatures at home and abroad and finds that the exploration of the relationship between environment and economy by scholars mostly centers on environmental pollution and economic growth, energy consumption and economic growth, environmental pollution and energy consumption.Fewer based on environmental perspectives involve a full range of variables such as economic growth, energy consumption, foreign direct investment and urbanization.Secondly, the fixed effects and the random effects analysis of traditional panel data are mostly used in the research methods.Since the ecological environment changes are gradual and time-correlated,the empirical model should include the lag order of dependent variables. Then the traditional panel data is not able to accurately describe the dynamic effects. So,the paper firstly establishes the PVAR model which comprises environmental pollutant, economic growth, energy consumption, foreign direct investment, urbanization according to three environmental pollutants respectively. And we comparative analysis the two-way dynamic relationship among five variables by the impulse response, variance analysis and Granger causality test. And then we divide provinces across the country into different regions according to the intensity of the three major environmental pollutants zoning. The PVAR model of economic growth-energy consumption-foreign direct investment in high and low pollutant discharge area is established respectively. The impulse response, variance analysis and Granger causality test are also used to empirically analyze and compare the degree of mutual influence among these three variables in different pollution intensity zones. With a view to providing reference for the relevant departments to formulate environmental protection policies. The results of global empirical analysis of the five variables show:(1)the dynamic relationship among five variables is most significant in the carbon emission, and the two-way coupling relationship between three environmental pollutants and economic growth, energy consumption and urbanization are significant;2)Among different pollutants, the two-way coupling relationship between environment and economy is in different stages of development;(3)The impact of energy consumption on the three pollutants is not significant in the current period, and in turn, increased carbon emissions and solid waste emissions will inhibit the increase in energy consumption;(4)Carbon emission and wastewater discharge will increase with the increase of foreign direct investment.Conversely, the discharge of solid waste will decrease significantly.Meanwhile, the emission of the three major pollutants to foreign direct investment is not significant;(5)The acceleration of urbanization will reduce carbon emissions and wastewater discharges, but will exacerbate solid waste emissions. At the same time, carbon emissions, solid waste emissions and wastewater emissions will slow down urbanization.Further, the empirical analysis of the three variables shows that:(1)The three variables of low emission area of carbon emission and industrial solid waste have significant dynamic relationship, while the high emission area is not significant, and the high and low emission area of industrial waste water is not significant;(2)Foreign direct investment can significantly reduce the intensity of energy consumption in the low-emission areas of the three major pollutants;(3)there is a two-way causal link between economic growth and energy consumption in the low-carbon area and the industrial solid waste low-emission area.It means that economic growth in the region can effectively reduce the intensity of energy consumption, while energy consumption can promote economic growth. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | environment pollution, economic growth, energy consumption, FDI, urbanization | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
