Effect Of Leaching Method On Reducing Tar And Reducing Harm Of Cigarettes

Reducing tar and relieving harm in cigarette smoke is an important research fields in tobacco industry.Leaching method were used to analyse the variation of reduce tar and relieve harm in two tobacco leaves(Brazilian B10/C and Henan Zhoukou CX61),cigarette formulation under the different leaching time and solution concentration in this study.The main results are showed as follows:1.Different concentration solutiotions,containing 100%,80% and 60%,were used to leaching Brazilian B10/C and Henan Zhoukou CX61 for 10 min,20 min,30 min and 40 min,respectively.The results showed that the reduce tar and relieve harm of strips can be effectively solved by using Leaching method.the content of hazardous components include nicotine,tar and carbon monoxide(CO)in two tobacco leaves(Brazilian B10/C and Henan Zhoukou CX61)consistently decreased with the increase of leaching time;The effects of reduce tar and relieve harm of strips are greatly affected by the leaching solution concentration,100% concentration leaching solution can improve the reduce tar and relieve harm of strips,but the 60% concentration leaching solution barely used to reducing tar and relieving harm.The effect of reduce tar and relieve harm of strips also affected by the leaching time,the longer leaching time,the better effect of reduce tar and relieve harm of strips were detected,but the water content lost obviously after leached for 40 minute.2.The contents of main stream smoke include four TSNAs(N-nitroso-niacin,N-nitroso neonicotin,N-nitroso,1-butanone),three PAHs(benzo [a] pyrene,1,2-benzophene(Chrysene),benzo [a] anthracene),total alkali,nitrogen and chlorine in the two tobacco leaves were all decreased,while the content of potassium increased slightly after leached by leaching method;3 Leaching method not only can be used to reduce tar and relieve harm of strips,but also to improve the flammability of tobacco.The results of sensory evaluation showed that the sample has slightly smooth aroma,the best comfort,the least tobacco moisture loss and the best overall effect after treatment with 80% concentration for 30 minutes.4.100% and 80% concentration solutions were used to leaching X cigarette for 20 min and 30 min.,The range of reduce tar and relieve harm for 30 min is better than that for 20 min under the same concentration solutions.the range of reduce tar and relieve harm treated by 100% concentration solutions is the biggest at the same treated times,but the water content lost obviously.The content of hazardous components in all cigarette were similar since the samples leached by different solution concentrations for 30 minutes.The contents of tar,nicotine and impurity smoke were reduced after the samples leached by 80% solution concentrations for 30 minutes,These samples were have smooth aroma,better comfort and less moisture loss of tobacco;so the leaching method with 80% concentration solution for 30 minutes is the best.
