Cultural values are the key points of understanding the change of local society.On the one hand,changes in the concept of emic can assess the degree of the influence of the guest and the external society.On the other hand,We can see the degree of interaction between the local subject and the local social culture from that,and understand the intrinsic motivation of local social changes.Based on the survey of gold mining in Yutong area of Kangding in Sichuan Province during 1990 s,the essay takes Yutong people's concept and usage of gold as the starting point with an aim of exploring the interaction between the constant change of conception and large-scale gold mining,and make the ritual of faith in god and in the gold mining of local as well as the change behind the gold mining as the research content.From the background of historical and realistic social concept changes the essay also makes an overall research on the religious beliefs of God of Mountains,the ceremonies in gold mining and the following social changes.Apart from that,the essay discusses the influence of gold mining in 1990 s on the local natural ecology and social culture.In the past,most of the research on gold mining is conducted from the perspective of economics.At present,the research on mineral exploitation under the perspective of anthropology has gradually emerged.Some scholars have started to study from the respect of resources and rights as well as resources and environment.Gold mining has changed the local social culture and the natural landscape.Nowadays,the locals are less concerned about protecting the original natural and cultural landscape on the mountain when they are exploiting gold in the mountains.The faith in god of mountain are gradually fading away.From the usage in the local religious and daily life it can be seen that gold has experienced the process from fetish into a common thing.The State adopts a loose policy on gold mining in early 1990 s.The local masses have joined the gold mining ranks with the idea of ‘developing' and ‘getting rich'.Meanwhile,the related beliefs and ceremonies can resolve the conflict the mine with the traditional faith in God.It contributed to the gold mining disorderly furthermore.Therefore,it is rather that gold mining has changed the sense of the locals,than the change of the local subject concept caused large-scale local gold mining boom,and had a significant impact on the local social and cultural environment,with a variety of factors such as power,market and commodity.Furthermore,the essay explains that the Resource Curse is not only the consequence of external capital and power but also the result of the conspiracy of all parties,if we don't deal with a stable transformation of local social culture well,but the simple emphasizing of the the theory of ‘Participation' and ‘Empowerment'.The result of the essay will provide a case and possible solutions for the problems during the development of resource areas.
