A Study Of The Sawtooth Pattern In Chinese Paper-cutting Art

Chinese paper cutting is China's intangible cultural heritage.It is rooted in folk art forms,representing people's original aesthetic concept and ideal pursuit.At present,there is a certain foundation for the research of Chinese paper-cut art,but a systematic study of a certain kind of patterns is rare.In form,the art of paper cutting consists of external contour and inner hollow pattern.The research of pattern is an important part.As a common pattern in Chinese paper-cut art,the sawtooth pattern has a long history,variety and rich connotation.At present,the research on sawtooth patterns are scattered in various literatures,mostly referred to simply,and not discussed in depth.This paper takes the zigzag pattern as the research object,the author deeply discusses the sawtooth pattern in the paper-cut art of China through the methods of literature research,pattern analysis,field investigation,comparison and so on.The article is divided into six chapters: The first chapter is the introduction,which defines the research subject,introduces the purpose and significance of the research,and analyzes the current situation of the related research.The second chapter gives a brief introduction to the sawtooth and Chinese paper-cut art.The sawtooth grain have appeared early in the primitive society.They are applied to various carriers and are constantly enriched and developed.With the appearance of paper,the zigzag pattern has become an important form of language in the history of Chinese paper-cut art;The third chapter analyzes the causes of sawtooth patterns from the two angles of technology and regional environment,and summarizes the basic patterns and deformation patterns of sawtooth patterns;The fourth chapters make a deep excavation of the stylized features and connotations of the serrated lines and the decorative patterns of the sawtooth patterns.The fifth chapter makes a comparative study of the application of the sawtooth pattern in the Chinese and foreign paper cutting,and tries.This paper tries to find out the important position of the saw pattern in the Chinese paper-cut art;the sixth chapter makes a summary and expectation for the above contents.In a word,the zigzag pattern in Chinese paper-cut art is a common form language in paper-cut,and it is also an ancient cultural symbol.This article hopes to find out the special status and function of the sawtooth pattern in the Chinese paper-cut art by combing the history of the sawtooth pattern,summarizing the forms,digging the meaning and comparing it with the Chinese and foreign paper cutting.
