Rare earth metal is extremely important strategic resources and is widely used in various fields of high-tech.However,the production technology of rare earth metal in China is backward,and the efficiency of ingot polishing is low,and the uniformity of polishing is difficult to guarantee.In order to solve these problems,a rare earth metal ingot polishing system is developed for the first time in China.The system realizes the automation and intelligence of the rare earth metal ingot polishing process and avoids the damage caused by the metal dust to the human body.According to the actual polishing requirements,the polishing tool and polishing force were determined by the polishing experiment and the theoretical derivation.The overall scheme of the rare earth metal ingot polishing system has been determined by polishing process parameters.The rare earth metal ingot polishing system was preliminarily designed.The kinematic analysis,modal analysis and transient dynamic analysis of the walking mechanism and overturning mechanism were carried out by the Creo and ANSYS/Workbench.The natural frequencies and modes of the six order modes of the mechanism were obtained.The results of transient dynamic analysis show that there is no obvious vibration when the overturning mechanism suddenly starts and brake,but the deformation of overturn axis and the weight of the overturning mechanism could be further optimized.The optimization design of overturning mechanism was carried out by the topology and response surface optimization.After optimization,the total weight was reduced by 21%,the overall deformation was reduced by 48.5%,and the maximum equivalent stress was reduced by 56.1%.The virtual simulation workstation of polishing system has been set up by Robot Studio.The offline programming and simulation were carried out.And the polishing path and procedure were obtained.The results of the study show that the developed rare earth metal ingot polishing system has good dynamic characteristics.The automation and intellectualization of rare earth metal ingot polishing are completely realized,and it provides references for the design and development of rare earth metal ingot polishing system in China.
