Coal bed methane is natural gas generated mainly from methane(methane content is usually from 90% to 99%),and is also commonly known as gas gas;it belongs to self-generated and unconventional natural gas.CBM was originally extracted for the purpose of disaster prevention,and CBM started as a large-scale development and utilization as a resource in the United States.The completion and commissioning of the Oak Grove CBM field in the Black Warrior Basin,Alabama in the United States in the 1980 s marked the birth of the modern CBM industry.Since then,the CBM industry in the United States has developed rapidly.China is rich in CBM resources and is the third largest storage country after Russia and Canada.The development of coal bed methane has important practical significance for resolving the contradiction between the supply and demand of clean energy and implementing the sustainable development energy strategy.Current CBM drilling mostly uses water source rigs,geophysical exploration rigs or imported car rigs.The drilling rigs and geophysical drilling rigs are relatively simple in configuration,with small power,low efficiency and high relocation costs,which can not keep up with the rapid development of coal bed methane industrialization.The imported full hydraulic drilling rigs are fully functional and highly automated,but the procurement costs are high,High cost of operation and maintenance.Therefore,it is of great importance to develop and manufacture CBM rigs that are in line with China’s national conditions.In this paper,we design an MQJ20-1350 J / 2.8K CBM drilling rig that meets the current CBM mining status in China.We also designed the overall structure of the main components of the MQJ20 drilling rig and drilling rig.The ANSYS software was used to analyze the strength of the key shaft of the winch and the strength of the rig to ensure the reliable operation of all components.Through on-site tests,it is shown that the rig is easy to use and has superior performance.It fully satisfies the technical requirements for CBM drilling and has gained users’ favor and praise.
