With the development of LCD technology,the market has more and more requirements for its performance.Redesigning the molecular structure of liquid crystal materials can improve the performance of liquid crystal devices,but involve a lot of synthetic reactions.However,it is a convenient and effective way to improve the liquid crystal material by adding a small amount of nanoparticles.In this paper,spherical gold nanoparticles were modified by polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes(POSS)and doped them into the nematic 5CB liquid crystal materials.The stability,phase transition and photoelectric properties of the doped liquid crystal devices and the effect of the orientation arrangement of the liquid crystal molecules induced by the gold nanoparticles were studied.The main contents are as follows:1.We prepared three kinds of gold nanoparticles,which are star shaped,flower shaped and spherical,and doped them into 5CB liquid crystal materials.The results showed that the viscosity of 5CB decreased by 5.6% and the threshold voltage decreased by 7.1%.2.Using polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes as a modified ligand,spherical gold nanoparticles with small particle size and good dispersibility were prepared and doped into 5CB liquid crystal materials with different mass fraction.The results show that :the viscosity of 5CB is reduced by 18.5%,the threshold voltage is reduced by 25%,the rise response time is reduced by 0.05 s,and the phase transition temperature is widened by 2.6℃.3.The vertical alignment of liquid crystal molecules induced by polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes modified gold nanoparticles has been studied.The results show that gold nanoparticles can avoid the same arrangement effect by using the PI orientation layer.4.The relationship between gold nanoparticles and liquid crystal molecules in the doping system are systematically analyzed.In terms of the influence of the size and concentration of nanoparticles on the properties of liquid crystals,the spatial relationship between gold nanoparticles and liquid crystal molecules,and the influence of nanoparticles on the order degree of liquid crystals.
