Energy crisis and environmental pollution have become a hot topic nowadays.The development and utilization of new energy and renewable energy has become the important issue in the worldwide.Hydrogen energy is especially paid much attention on its clean,efficient and reproducible.Using glucose as raw material,this paper conducted anaerobic digestion for hydrogen production in UASB,EGSB,and IC reactor,then we analyzed three hydrogen production efficiency of three different kinds of reactors under the normal temperature of14-25℃.The experiment was divided into three steps.In the first step,the optimal inlet COD concentration of three anaerobic reactors was determined.The optimum of inlet COD concentration of UASB reactor was6000±200 mg/L,while EGSB 7000±200 mg/L,and IC 9000±200 mg/L.In the second step,the optimal operation hydraulic retention time(HRT)of the three anaerobic reactors was determined.The optimal operation HRT of the UASB reactor was 1.2h,while EGSB 2.8h,and IC 1.2h.The third step,used the three kinds of anaerobic reactors for hydrogen production,the experimental results showed that:(1)UASB anaerobic digestion process:we can get the optimal OLR of 44.41kg·COD/(m~3·d),while HRT was 1.2 h,COD removal rate was 48.83%,hydrogen content was 49.35%,volume gas productivity was 9.47 m~3/(m~3·d),hydrogen production rate was 2.36 L/(L·d),and maximum of hydrogen production per day7232.40 mL.(2)EGSB anaerobic digestion process:we can get the optimal OLR of 60.06kg·COD/(m~3·d),while HRT was 2.8 h,COD removal rate was 51.56%,hydrogen content was 52.02%,volume gas productivity was 5.74 m~3/(m~3·d),hydrogen production rate was 2.78 L/(L·d),and maximum of hydrogen production per day9164.53 mL.(3)IC anaerobic digestion process:we can get the optimal OLR of 89.53kg·COD/(m~3·d),while HRT was 1.2 h,COD removal rate was 49.50%,hydrogen content was 56.02%,volume gas productivity was 10.91 m~3/(m~3·d),hydrogen production rate was 5.27 L/(L·d),and maximum of hydrogen production per day12493 mL.After vertical comparion of three reactors of UASB EGSB IC,the following conclusions were obtained:the hydrogen production capacity of IC>EGSB>UASB,and energy conversion rate of IC>UASB>EGSB,which was consistent with the literature.In a conclusion,IC reactor was the most suitable for hydrogen production among three types of anaerobic reactor under the condition with glucose as the raw material.The significance of this experiment was that it not only verified hydrogen producing performance of the three kinds of reactors,but also provided relevant data for the subsequent co-production of hydrogen and methane in two phase processes.
