The research of removing the heavy metal from the sludge through the microbial fuel cell is necessary.Nowadays,a large amount of sludge has been produced because of the number of sewage treatment increasing in urban sewage plant.Plenty of organic compound and heavy metal are included in sludge.Therefore,in order to make reasonable use of the organic compound and remove the heavy metal from the sludge,some microbial fuel cells are researched.Double-cylindrical membraneless bio-cathode microbial fuel cell is choosed to remove the heavy metal of the actived sludge.Through orthogonal experiments from the aspects of anode substrate concentration,cathode electrode size and initial p H of the sludge,the removal of heavy metals is the best,when the value of p H is 7,the number of cathode electrodes is 8,and the volume of the substrate concentration and distilled water is 1:1.Another research is about the effect of DOM on the removal of heavy metals.The method is to extract and classify the organic component of the organic compound and analyze organic compound by infrared spectrum.What's more,according to the situation of functional groups in infrared spectrogram changed,it may be concluded that the effect for the removal of heavy metals can be promoted by HPO-A of DOM in sludge,and heavy metals are dissolved from the supernatant DOM of sludge,TPI-A and hydroxyl groups of HPO-N hydroxyl compounds.In addition,in the process of MFC treatment of ultrasonic sludge,carboxylic acids,aldehydes,esters and ketones in ultrasonic sludge EBOM,were hydrolyzed by microorganisms in anode chamber and heavy metals were dissolved.Therefore,in the process of MFC treatment of ultrasonic sludge,not only heavy metals are dissolved,but also heavy metals are combined with the organic components in the sludge EBOM.What's more,heavy metals combined with organic components were removed simultaneously,when MFC was used to remove organic matter.On the other hand,because heavy metals dissolved in the supernatant were adsorbed on the cathode electrode by electric adsorption,heavy metals can be removed.
