In this paper,a new flow-guided trapezoid jet combined tray(FTCT)has been designed to meet the requirepments of the chemical industry for high flux,high efficiency and low energy consumption and solve the problem of high energy consumption and low production capacity of distillation process,according to different types of openings and packing.Experimental trays have been tested in a 500 mm diameter and plate spacing of 450 mm plexiglass column using cold-flow model experiments in an air-oxygen-water system.Parameters of FTCT trays have been measured including pressure drops,clear liquid heights,entrainment,weeping and tray efficiency under different experimental conditions.By changing the arrangement direction of the cap,the shape of the cap and the angle of the cap,the effect of factors on the performance of the tray were explored,and the performance of the FTCT was compared with the New VST and F1 valve trays.The experimental results by experimental data processing and drawing showed that the arrangement direction of the cap has less influence on dry pressure drop,entrainment,tray efficiency while the positive trapezoidal cap reduces clear liquid height and wet pressure drop effectively.Trapezoidal and rectangular caps have little effect on the mass transfer efficiency and trapezoid cap reduces pressure drop,clear liquid height entrainment,weeping under high flux.The different angles trapezoidal cap has impact on the performance of FTCT,so there is an optimal angle of 6 ° to optimize the performance of trays.The dry pressure drop of the FTCT is more than lower than that of the New VST tray,the wet pressure drop is reduced by about 60%,the entrainment and weeping of the plate are both lower than those of the New VST.The tray pressure drop and entrainment of the FTCT is 50%and 30%lower than those of the F1 valve tray under high gas velocity,respectively.What's more,the mass transfer efficiency of the FTCT is over 70%.In addition,according to experimental data,the correlation equation of dry pressure drop and wet pressure drop for FTCT trays were fitted,with the relation deviation less than 10%and linear correlation above 0.98.The dry plate pressure drop model of FTCT was obtained on the basis of dry pressure drop generating factor,and the relative deviation is within 10%,which provided theoretical basis for the design and development of the composite plate.The dry pressure drop model is:(?)The experimental research shows that flow-guided trapezoid jet combined tray is a kind of distillation tray with better performance.It has the characteristics of lower pressure drop,larger operation flexibility and higher mass transfer efficiency,which has very good development potential.
