Energy conservation and emission reduction and cleaner production have become an important issue in the steel industry as environmental pollution is becoming more and more serious.Hot rolling oil used in steel bar production is difficult to deal with.It pollutes water and produces a lot of lampblack that pollution air environment,seriously endangers worker's health.Therefore,water-based lubricants are getting more and more attention.The water-based lubricants has good cooling effect,environmental cleaning and economic security.The water-based lubricants can reduce rolling force in rolling process,reduce roll consumption and improve the surface quality of billet,but there are also problems of poor stability,poor lubrication and poor anti-rust performance.The study chose the ferrous carbonate as a medium which a kind of cooling and lubrication performance of the medium.This paper were studied on water-based rolling lubricant with ferrous carbonate containing which about dispersion stability the and preparation of hydro-carbonated water-base rolling lubricant and its friction and lubricating properties experimentally.The main conclusions of this work are as follows:Thermal analysis results show that the pyrolysis of ferrous carbonate is an endothermic reaction.Temperature is the determining factor in the pyrolysis of ferrous carbonate,which is completed with a decomposition temperature of about427 ? to 630 ?.Pyrolysis process will produce gas and degradation product are related with heat treatment temperature,atmosphere conditions holding time,the structural characteristics of ferrous carbonate.The results of thermal simulation test showed that Fe3O4 from the breakdown product of ferrous carbonate can reduced the deformation resistance of the sample and has a good high temperature lubrication performance.Ferrous carbonate can be added as a cooling lubricant additive to a water-based rolling lubricant.The aggregation of ferrous carbonate in water is difficult to provide cooling and lubrication.Using the method of precipitation,spectrophotometry,granularity,to choose sodium dodecyl sulfate as dispersanting and got the best technology of distributed: 12 minutes of oscillation time,p H value of 8,dispersant concentration was 10 %.The stability of carbonate ferrous carbonate in water system is realized by dispersion and chemical dispersion method with add appropriate water soluble additive.The water-based lubricants that are made from the preparation of the process has appropriate viscosity and good stability and rust resistance.The results of friction and wear experiment of four balls show that,extreme pressure and antiwear properties of water based rolling lubricants are significantly improved with addition of ferrous carbonate.The experimental results show that theaverage friction coefficient and the diameter of the grinding spot are minimum with0.6 % of ferrous carbonate water-based rolling lubricant and under the condition of high load and high revolution speed,0.6% of ferrous carbonate water-based rolling lubricant has excellent anti-wear and anti-friction performance.Using 0.6%water-based rolling lubricant with ferrous carbonate containing of hot rolling,rolling force that the first time and second time respectively fell by 11% and 27%,after rolling surface quality is improved,the oxide layer on the surface of the rolling thin and dense.
