Mercury pollution is a global concern. The mercury in the atmosphere has a great threat to both the human body and the ecological environment. Therefore, the removal of elemental mercury in the environment is particularly important. At present, there are many methods to remove the mercury, and the adsorption method has attracted much attention because of its simple operation and good effect, which has a good prospect for development. However, the adsorption efficiency of conventional adsorbent to mercury is low,the adsorption capacity is weak, the selectivity is poor, and the recycling is difficult. There are still many difficulties to be solved urgently in the effective removal of trace mercury in the atmosphere. Therefore, researching and developing a new adsorption material with high adsorption efficiency, large adsorption capacity, good selectivity and renewable capacity is a hot topic in the field of atmospheric mercury pollution control.Electrospinning is the main direction of the new adsorption material at the present study, and it is one of the most convenient and efficient method preparing nanofibers.Because the operation is simple and the nanofiber prepared has good continuity, high porosity and specific surface area, and the preparing process has strong operability,so the research about it is very wide.In this paper,we prepared composite material loading Ag nanoparticles uniformly by the electrospinning successfully. The different low concentration of gaseous mercury, the existence and the different concentration of CO2 and O2,and different temperature experiments were carried out to explore the application of composite material in the air,and compared the performance with the carbon nanotubes loading Ag and 30B mercury adsorption tube.In addition, the accumulation mechanism of mercury in the material was explored by the temperature program desorbed different forms of mercury, which were enriched in different locations. The experiment results show that the composite nanomaterials loading Ag prepared by electrospinning had a good adsorption effect on trace mercury. The presence of CO2 and O2 and the change of their concentration did not affect the adsorption effect of the material.Below 100 degrees, the temperature had little effect on the adsorption of the material. The detection limit of this method was 0.0038 ng,which was suitable for the actual sampling of air,and the concentration of gaseous mercury detected in the local air was 23.83 ng/m3.The enriched mercury in the composite material was mainly in the form of silver amalgam, and there was a small account of mercuric oxide.
