Research Of Thought About Cason's Ecological Critical Of Technology

Technology,as an implement for mankind to understand and reform the world,is the symbol of the developing human social civilization.Therefore,the development of human society is inseparable from the development of technology.However,in the process of human inventing and applying technology,it not only brings positive value to mankind,but brings negative effect to human at some stage.Especially after the modern industrial revolution,the negative effect of technology presents more and more obviously.All the way up to the contemporary,the spring up problems about natural ecology and human alienation etc.which caused by technology abusing is increasingly attractive.Facing natural problems caused by technology,some people appear with pessimistic technological thoughts and fearful psychology,while others,especially some scholars,confront and criticize modern technical problems as well as puts forward new ideas of developing technical ecological.Rachel Carson,who was borned in the United States is such a person.In Carson's masterpiece "Silent Spring",as a woman with female characteristic sensibility of life,she deeply analyses and critisizes the modern American problems which caused by the abuse of the chemical pesticides such as DDT technical animal damage,environmental pollution,human health damage,etc.It reveals the technical ruling of technocracy and the technical interests of the technical tradesman which are also hiding in technical development.What's more,Carson dosen't just keen on concerning and criticising on technology itself.In the last chapter of the book,she points out to use biological technology to instead the chemical technology,which indicates the direction of the ecological development for human technology,it also opens a brand-new technology ecology research aspect.In the past,people discuss Carson's research mostly focused on her ideas of ecology theory and environmental protection,but hardly talk about her technical ecological thoughts.So in this paper,on the basis of previous studies and the text of "Silent Spring",we will try to assemble technical ecological critique of Carson to carry on the discussion,and point out the technical ecological thoughts inside the book.The article will be divided into three parts.On the first part,we will examine Carson's life and bookmakings,and then analyze her family background,academic background and social background which give the birth to Carson's ecological thoughts.It also points out that Carson's technical ecological thoughts is closely related to the influence of her mother,the guidance of the teacher and the industrialization of the society.On the second part,we will analyze the technical ecological thought contains in "Silent Spring" and point out the forming process of Carson technical ecological thought which experienced from technology fear to technology critical then to ecological technology.It reveals that in Carson's criticism of technology shows the criticism technical and commercial interests of technocracy.The third part analyzes the influence of Carson's technical ecological thought on the world and the enlightenment to the development of Chinese contemporary society.It is pointed out that Carson's criticism not only promoted the environmental movement in the United States and even the world,but also promoted the ecological development to technology.At the same time,it also provides beneficial enlightenment to our developing China.That is insist on the ecological development of technology and build an ecological civilization;persist in technocratic guidance but overcoming technocracy;adhere to rational apply for technology but prevent the commercial abuse of technology.Recently,in terms of technology,Chinese modernization is similar with the United States.The study of Carson's technical ecological is not only of great practical significance to China's development,it also enriches the theory of ecological civilization construction in our country.
