In recent years,the consumption ratio of hair products such as shampoos,hair care,hair dyes,and stereotype have been increasing.However,Hair styling product,which is currently marketed as hair spray,has poor compatibility with stereotyped polymer and hydrocarbon propellant,resulting in clogging of the bottle mouth,which limits the use of hair spray.Therefore,in this study,we focused on synthesizing a hydrocarbon-soluble styling polymer that has good compatibility with hydrocarbon propellant and sprays on the surface of the hair,and does not damage the hair,but also play a stereotyping role.The main work and results are as follows:(1)In this paper,iso-octyl methacrylate(EHMA),butyl acrylate(BA),methyl methacrylate(MMA)were used as polymerization monomers,cyclohexane was used as the solvent,Benzoyl peroxide(BPO)were used as initiator.The hydrocarbon-soluble EHMA/BA/MMA acrylate polymer(HAC)was prepared by Solution polymerization.Through single-factor experiments,the effects of the type and amount of initiator,the ratio of soft and hard monomers,polymerization time,and stirring rate on monomer conversion and the apparent viscosity of the polymer solution were investigated,and the Better synthesis conditions were established.The results showed that when m(EHMA)+m(BA):m(MMA)=7:13,the amount of BPO was 1wt%(percentage of the total mass of the monomers,the same below),and polymerization time was 4.5 to 5 hours and the stirring rate was 200 r/min,the hydrocarbon-soluble acrylate polymer with good stability,high transparency,good hydrocarbon solubility,good film-forming property,and good setting effect can be obtained.The FTIR,NMR and XRD spectra of the polymer showed that EHMA,BA and MMA were completely polymerized;the TG graph showed that the HAC had superior thermal stability;the DSC and XRD graphs showed that the HAC was an amorphous polymer.(2)2-Ethylhexyl acrylate(EHA),vinyl acetate VAc,and Veova10 were used as polymerization monomers.The hydrocarbon-soluble EHA/ VAc /Veova10 acrylate polymer(HEA)was prepared by Solution polymerization.The effects of the amount of Veova10 on the apparent viscosity,transparency,film-forming properties and hair curl retention,film tensile strength,and contact angle of the polymer solution were investigated.The results showed that with the increase of Veova10 dosage,the apparent viscosity of HEA solution increased first and then decreased,the transparency was improved,the film formation rate,the hair curling retention rate and film tensile strength were increased first,and then the decrease was considered.This experiment will control the amount of Veova10 to about 8%.The FTIR,NMA,and XRD spectra of polymers indicate:The resulting polymer structure was consistent with the design;TG and DTG diagrams showed that the HEA has excellent thermal stability.Analysis of solution stability of the stability analyzer showed that the TSI of the stock solution is less than 1,and the TSI of the 10% polymer solution is less than 0.4,indicated that the polymer solution has good storage stability.(3)Practical application of HAC and HEA.The performance comparison shows that HAC was suitable for people with firm hair,while HEA was more supple and suitable for people with soft and natural hairstyles.Both of them have strong hydrocarbon solubility and have better adaptability to the filling products with butane as the propellant.At the same time,since hydrocarbon solvents are harmless to the environment,therefore,this product is a green chemical.
