The fiber reinforced metal laminate is a product obtained by alternately laying the fiber-resin composite material and metal sheets and it is formed by hot pressing.This product combines the advantages of the composite material and metal.It has outstanding characteristics such as high strength,corrosion resistance,fatigue resistance,and strong impact resistance.In this paper,basalt fiber with the advantages of high temperature resistance,good chemical stability,and environmental protection was selected as the reinforcement of fiber-reinforced metal laminates.Basalt fiber reinforced metal laminates were prepared and their properties were studied.The specific research content is as follows:(1)Orthogonal design experiments were used to optimize the forming conditions of basalt fiber reinforced metal laminates.Experiments were carried out according to the orthogonal table design.laminates under 9 different molding conditions were prepared.Each laminate was subjected to tensile,compression,bending,and peeling tests,respectively.The results show that the optimal conditions for the formation of laminates are the molding temperature(α+10)°C,the molding time(β+20)min,and the molding pressure(γ+0.2)MPa.The tensile strength,compressive strength,and bending strength of the laminate are significantly affected by the molding time and molding pressure,and the peel strength of the laminate is significantly affected by the molding pressure.The results obtained from the orthogonal experiments were verified by experiments.The results show that the laminates prepared under the optimal molding conditions have the best mechanical properties,which verifies the correctness of orthogonal experiments.Comparing the mechanical properties of this laminate with the commercial laminate,it was found that the self-made laminate has strong tensile strength and bending strength but has low peel strength.(2)The effects of adding different mass fractions of diamond powder on the mechanical properties of basalt fiber reinforced metal laminates were studied.Thediamond powder needs to be modified before it is added to the laminate.Firstly,the mechanism of the modification of diamond by silane coupling agent was described.The scanning electron microscopy,infrared spectroscopy and suspension stability tests were used to characterize and analyze the modified diamond powder before and after.The basalt fiber and diamond micropowder composite reinforced metal laminates containing 0 wt%,0.3 wt%,0.6 wt%,0.9 wt%,and 1.2 wt% of diamond powder were prepared and subjected to tensile,compression,bending,and peel tests.The results show that the addition of diamond micro-powder significantly increases the elastic modulus,flexural modulus and compressive strength of the laminate,but decreases the tensile strength,fracture strain,flexural strength,deflection and peel strength of the laminate.For laminates with different mass fractions of diamond micropowder,the laminate exhibits the best mechanical properties when 0.9 wt% of diamond micropowder is added.The mechanical properties were compared with the commercial laminates.The results show that laminate with 0.9 wt% diamond powder exhibits outstanding mechanical properties in tension,compression,and bending,but the bond strength is low.(3)The bolting process parameter for basalt fiber reinforced metal laminates and aluminum alloy laminates was optimized.The joints of the basalt fiber-reinforced metal laminates and aluminum alloy plates with different hole geometries were prepared and subjected to tensile tests.The experimental results show that when W/D=2,the failure modes of the different E/D connectors are tensile failure.When W/D=3,the failure mode of the connector is Extrusion failure as E/D=5,and the rest is tensile failure or shear failure.When W/D=4,the failure modes of the connectors at E/D=3,4,5 are all crush damage.When W/D=5,the failure modes of the connectors at E/D=3,4,5 are all crush damage.In order to make the connector have the characteristics of light weight and high strength,the geometric position of the hole was finally selected as W/D=4 and E/D=3.
