Aiming at the disposal of plastic and agriculture waste,a method of preparing activated carbon with plastic and biomass via dry-forming?Plastic-Biomass activated carbon:P-BAC?was proposed to achieve the treatment of wastes with processes of wastes against one another.Using the sycamore sawdust and polypropylene plastic as raw materials, activated carbon was prepared by mixing with activator K2CO3 at room temperature.Taking the iodine as evaluation criterion, the influence of preparation conditions on the adsorption performance of P-BAC was investigated by single-factor experiments, whose results verified the feasibility of the method and the synergistic effect of plastic and sawdust in the pyrolysis process. The influence on the adsorption performance of high mesoporous P-BAC was also explored by taking methylene blue?MB?number as evaluation standard. The sample's mesoporous rate was proven more than 70%,which indicated this method can be used to produce high mesoporous activated carbon.Based on the results of the single-factor experiments, using the Response Surface Methodology?RSM?based on the Central Composite Design?CCD?,taking the optimal MB adsorption value on the high level range of iodine number as goal, the preparation process was optimized. The sample's iodine number was 1321.70 mg?g-1 and MB number was 471.95 mg?g-1.The relative errors of the second-order model predictions were 1.64%and 8.56%,which proved that the model had high credibility.MB adsorption behavior of optimized P-BAC was studied. The results showed that the fitting rate of Redlich-Peterson model with the experiments data was the best, which obtained the maximum monolayer adsorption capacity was 472.19 mg?g-1 with Langmuir model.Compared with the experimental value of 476.88 mg?g-1,the normalized standard deviation was 3.56%.Besides,The Pseudo-second-order model and Elovich model could better describe the adsorption behavior of P-BAC in MB solution with lower and higher initial concentration, respectively.Through the exploration of new method and the MB adsorption behavior,it is hoped to provide new ideas and theoretical basis for the disposal of waste, and also help to alleviate the current urgent need for industrial activated carbon in China.
