As we all know,drilling fluid plays a crucial role in drilling production.The performance of drilling fluid has a direct impact on drilling production,which is called as drilling blood.The topic of "Continuous Monitoring System for Drilling Fluid Density and Viscosity" comes from the on-line viscosity measurement project of the oil field.Based on the study of measuring the density of mud by ultrasonic method and measuring the viscosity of fluid by rotating method,a new design scheme of the uphole density viscometer with single chip microcomputer as the control core is put forward.The hardware circuit design and the software program design are expounded in detail.(1)measurement principle analysisIn order to meet the requirements of density and viscosity measurement,the theory of ultrasonic density measurement of mud density and measurement principle of viscosity measurement are taken as the theoretical basis.The structure,working flow and main technical indexes of the system are fully analyzed.(2)system hardware and software designAccording to the function to be achieved by this density and viscosity measurement device,the chip is taken as the core control chip,and the hardware design of the lower computer is reasonably set up by means of modular design.The driver program is written in C language to realize the communication of upper and lower computer.Acquisition and oscillation period measurement and display.In order to realize the automatic measurement of density and viscosity,LabVIEW is used as the development environment to design PC operating software.The main contents include:setting of experimental parameters,reading and storing of collected data,density and viscosity Calculation and automatic generation of density curve and viscosity curve.(3)the experimental results and performance analysis of the measuring deviceAfter the equipment is assembled,different samples are used for repeated tests and compared with the accepted values to analyze the measurement error,repeatability and accuracy of the equipment.A large number of actual measurement data show that:This topic adopts online density viscosity measurement scheme is feasible.The system's experimental measurement error of less than 5%,the application of measurement error of about 25%.The use of electronic technology,such as single-chip technology to complete a set of protection,measurement,control,monitoring,communications in one,the time can be set drilling fluid performance real-time detection system.Aiming at the backward measurement of drilling fluid property in oilfield drilling production and no remote on-line monitoring facilities,the continuous monitoring system of drilling fluid density and viscosity was developed to guide the drilling production and operation and ensure the steadily increase of the passing rate of drilling quality.Yield is of practical significance.
