The rapid development of highway system in China plays a significant part in the national economy growth and construction of modernization. However, due to lack of management expertise and experience, the traffic accidents on the highway have been increasing. In recent years, most scholars have been studying the reasons of frequent highway accidents by focusing on the relationship between traffic flows, road alignment, road environment and traffic accidents. While, the study combining the driver’s individual attribute, travel attribute, vehicle attribute, traffic conflict technology and driving behaviors is few. Therefore, this article explores the risk factors of highway driving safety under different driving behaviors based on the round up of relative study at home and aboard. This article firstly constructs the logistic regression model based on driver’s individual attribute, travel attribute and vehicle attribute,as long as cutting in and overspeeding behaviors, making quantitative analysis on the key influencing factors of highway safety.Secondly,it studies the influences of driver’s danger-avoiding driving behaviors by braking and lane changing under rear-end collisions on the highway driving safety based on the traffic conflict technology.1.Obtain data through questionnaires and traffic investigations, then roughly analyze the data, providing the data base for constructing the model and detailed statistic analysis.2.Establish separately the logistic regression models of highway overtaking and overspeeding under normal condition, quantitatively analyzing the key factors of driver’s overtaking and overspeeding as well as relative relationships among those factors.3.Conclude the key influencing factors affecting the highway safety and the rules.4.Built on the traffic conflict technology, calculate the TTC(Time to Collision)and DRAC(Deceleration Rate to Avoid Crash,DRAG)values of danger-avoiding behaviors-braking-lane changing, using non-parameter verification method to analysis the risk level differences between the two driver’s danger-avoiding behaviors and the impacts on the highway driving safety with TTC and DRAC-based analysis under the rear-end collisions. The critical values of TTC with braking-lane changing behaviors during driving and during different driving speeds are calculated and the changing rules of the values are analyzed. The results of this study shows:1.The modeling analysis of drivers’overtaking behaviors under normal conditions on the highway shows that the people listed as below are more likely to overtake-male drivers, drivers at the age of 36 or over 36,drivers who have drove for 11 years or longer, drivers with aggressive driving style, drivers who have associate degree or above, drivers who driving for 1 hour or longer on average on the highway.Compared with the situations of never overtaking, male drivers are more likely to frequently over take than to occasionally over take.Instead, the driver who drives under 10 years and who has lower degree than associate degree are more likely to occasionally drive than to frequently drive.2.The modeling analysis of drivers’ overspeeding behaviors under normal conditions on the highway shows that compared with those never overspeed, male drivers have higher chance to overspeed.More aggressive the driver’s driving style, the higher the chance of overspeeding.Small to medium vans have higher chance to overspeed. The longer the driver on the high way every time, the higher the chance of overspeeding.Compared to the situations of never overspeeding, male drivers and drivers of small and medium vans have higher chance to frequently overspeed than to occasionally overspeed.Drivers with conservative driving style and average driving time below 1 hour every time on the high way have higher change to occasionally overspeed than to frequently overspeed.3.With synthetic to the overtaking and overspeeding driving behaviors on the high way under normal conditions,it is concluded that the key factors influencing the traffic safety on the highway are sexuality, age, driving years, driving style, degree, average driving time on the highway each time and vehicle type. The higher the relative probability of grouped overtaking or overspeed, the greater the impacts on the traffic safety on the highway are.4.When the rear-end collisions happen on the highway,if the drivers have shorter response time, the driver tends to stop the car so as to avoid dangers. If the drivers have longer response time, they tend to choose to change lanes to avoid risks.Braking is more dangerous than lane changing to avoid risks when rear-end collisions happen, which have more influences on the highway safety.5.The critical TTC value of Lane changing-braking is 9.08s.With the speed of the car increasing, the critical TTC values of danger-avoiding actions by braking-lane changing tends to decline, and the risk level is increasing.
