As an insulation material,moulded polystyrene foam board for thermal insulation(commonly known as benzene board,EPS board)widely used for energy saving building engineering in China,because of its excellent insulating performance,unique anti vapor permeability,high compressive strength,convenient installation,long service life and many other advantages.Construction site offen pays more attention to whether the apparent density of approached EPS board meets the requirements of the agreement.In order to reduce the cost of products,some manufacturing enterprises sell low density products posing as high density products through joining some of the larger density and cheap non-material substance into EPS board,such as quartz sand,weight gain agent(penetration agent),which can effectively improve the apparent density of EPS.However,in the existing test methods,fast and effective test methods have not reported.In view of this kind of phenomenon,field testing method on the thermal insulation polystyrene foam plastics are carry out in this study.Quickly identifying EPS boards content of non-material substance is realized,which constructs to standardizing the market of moulded polystyrene foam products in China,and provides strong technical support for guiding the industry to benign direction.In the study of field testing method on the thermal insulation polystyrene foam plastics,organic dichloromethane is selected to fastly separate quartz sands from polystyrene foam plastics by dissolving organic polystyrene foam plastics.Field rapid detection method of polystyrene foam plastics weighted by inorganic matter is realized.Sunset yellow pigment aqueous solution was sprayed on the surface of EPS boards with spray bottle.And the state of sunset yellow pigment detection solution,that forming beads or permeating through the EPS board,is observed to judge whether the EPS board weighted using the "penetrating agent"water solution or not.According to the verification test of engineering site,whether the weight of EPS boards increased by adding non-material substance or not,can be fastly identified by this detection method.The study of this field testing method not only provide theoretical reference and necessary technical support for the fight against the "fake",but also further improve our moulded polystyrene foam test standard system.
