Geological interface has a certain direction, size and morphology exist within the rock mass, including material differentiation and discontinuity, such as bedding, cleavage, faults and joints, etc. These are collectively referred to as the structural planes.Structural planes in rock mass mutual combination will cut rock mass into blocks that have different shape, size and composition.Structural plane can play a key role for the strength, deformation and seepage of the rock mass.It determines the stability of rock mass in some extent. Therefore, rapid collection of structural plan information, characterization and the geometric parameter statistics of structural plane such as occurrence is a very important research work.Based on 3D laser scanning technique's application in collection of rock mass structure information and Point Cloud Library, this paper develop a reseach of disconnity characterizat-ion.This thesis carries out the following work and has the following research achievement:(1)Field capture, voxelgrid analysis and Euclidean distance criteria are used to simplify and remove noise of point cloud data.(2)Build a topology relationship of discrete point cloud, use an improved region growing method to characteration rock discontinuity.Use PCA to fit normal vector of structural plane to calculate the orientation and drawing rose diagram, pole diagram, contour plots diagram, stereogram to diagram the statistical results.(3)Base on Point Cloud Library,a system named Rockmass Point cloud Analysis is developed in Microsoft Visual studio 2010 and Qt Designer to reducing and filtering, characterizing, counting the orientation of the discontinuity point cloud data collect from an oil storage cavern.
