| Poly(phenylene sulfide)(PPS)was a kind of the thermoplastic special engineering plastics,and its comprehensive performance was completely excellent,but the PPS had the disadvantage that the izod impact strength was low.Therefore,the PPS was used after modification,especially the toughening modification.In this paper,the PPS after chemically modified(MPPS)was melt blended with acrylonitrile-ethylene-propylene-diene-styrene(AES)and the MPPS/AES alloy with excellent properties was manufacted,by adjusting the content of MPPS and AES resin and adding the different content of polyolefin elastomer grafted maleic anhydride copolymer(POE-g-MAH),styrene grafted maleic anhydride copolymer(SMA)or styrene-acrylonitrile grafted maleic anhydride copolymer(SAN-g-MAH).Using torque rheometer,electronic universal test machine,differential scanning calorimeter(DSC),high-level rheometer(ARES),thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA),and scanning electron microscope(SEM),in this work,we studied the thermal properties,mechanical properties,micro-morphology and other properties of the MPPS/AES materials.The experimental results were as follows:1.When the content of AES was 20%,the overall performance of the material was the best and the impact strength was increased to the maximum.Moreover,tensile performance was slightly lost.The dispersion phase of AES produced stress concentration,which made the surrounding matrix resin brittle and tough transition and the toughness was improved.Due to the addition of AES,the melting point and the crystallization temperature of the blend increased,and the elasticity and viscosity of the material also increased.Furthermore,the thermal stability of the material was maintained.2.The addition of POE-g-MAH could improve the notched impact strength of MPPS/AES(80/20)alloy and the toughness was improved.Adding the appropriate amount of POE-g-MAH to the material made the AES dispersed particles smaller in size.The distribution of AES dispersed particles was more uniform,the interfacial adhesion between the two phases increased and the compatibility between the two phases increased.Moreover,the molecular chain entanglement density was improved and the movement of the molecular chain was more difficult,which enhanced the elasticity and viscosity of the material and made the melting point and the crystallization temperature of the blend decreased.Furthermore,the thermal stability of the material also decreased.3.When the content of SMA was 2%,the notched impact strength and tensile performance of MPPS/AES alloy was improved.When the amount of SMA was too much,the toughness of the material was reduced.The thermal stability of the material also decreased.4.The SAN-g-MAH compatibilized MPPS/AES(80/20)alloy: Adding the appropriate amount of SAN-g-MAH to the material makes the AES dispersed particles smaller in size.The distribution of AES dispersed particles were more uniform,the interfacial adhesion between the two phases increase and the compatibility between the two phases increase.the notched impact strength of MPPS/AES(80/20)alloy was also improved.Moreover,the tensile properties of the alloy are also enhanced with the addition of SAN-g-MAH.5.Adding the 30% GF to the SAN-g-MAH compatibilized MPPS/AES(80/20)alloy,the MPPS/AES/GF alloy with excellment performance was obtained.The notched impact strength and the tensile had been significantly improved. |
