This paper mainly introduces the mechanical seal of high-temperature hot oil pump on the 4Mt/a atmospheric and vacuum distillation and various auxiliary system in Jingmen branch of Sinopec.The series mechanical seal’s leakage problems were analyzed,and the sealing oil in the main sealing part of poor heat exchange effect problems are studied.Redesign the seal cavity and seal form based on the theory of heat exchange,put forward the double-end mechanical system to improve the operating environment around the mechanical seal.Using FLUENT software,the numerical simulation method of flow field and temperature field of sealing oil,series mechanical seal and double-end mechanical seal were calculated and compared.The results show the heat exchange effect of double-end mechanical seal is better than the series mechanical seal.Based on calculation theory of the fluid-solid thermal coupled,the heat oil pump mechanical seal’s friction pairs in the working state were analyzed in the way of fluid-solid thermal coupled by using Workbench software to study the temperature field of friction pairs and the thermal stress distribution of the sealing ring.The practice shows that the double-end mechanical seal system designed with international standard API682 has reliable operation and wide application prospect.The above research provides a theoretical basis for the structural optimization design and solving leakage problems of the mechanical seal system of high temperature hot oil pump in oil refining plant.
