Electrochemiluminescence, also called electrogenerated chemiluminescence,is the process in which electrogenerated reactive species at working electrodes undergo high energy electron transfer reactions to form excited states that emit luminescent signals. As an analytical technique,ECL is a promising tool that is capable of sensing and detecting a wide variety of samples as a result of the chemiluminescent analysis(lowbackground optical signal)and the electrochemical analysis(controlled electrochemical potential).Electrochemiluminescence technology with its unique advantages has been widely used, such as clinical, pesticide, environmental monitoring and other fields of application. The porphyrin compounds are widely found in nature, based on their unique properties and structure characteristics, the electrochemiluminescence behavior of water-soluble porphyrins with different substituents is studied with tetraphenylporphyrin as the main body. The new system of porphyrin electrochemiluminescence was studied and applied to the analysis detection. The main contents are as follows:1? This chapter introduces the electrochemiluminescence technology from the aspects of definition, characteristics, mechanism, system, research progress and application of electrochemiluminescence. Then the structure and properties of porphyrin compounds and the significance of porphyrin compounds are reviewed. The application of porphyrin compounds in the field of electrochemiluminescence is also introduced.2?The most simple 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyl porphyrin was used as the luminescent reagent and dichloromethane as the solvent to study the electrochemical and electrochemiluminescence properties. In this study, tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate was always employed as the supporting electrolyte. It is found that it has a strong and stable electrochemiluminescence signal, the mechanism of tetraphenylporphyrin is explored, and then it is deduced. The effect of different conditions such as canning speed and different concentrations of tetraphenylporphyrin on the luminescence intensity were studied, the optimum experimental conditions were obtained.3? The experiment found a new electrochemiluminescence system,meso-tetrakis(4-N-methylpyridyl)porphyrin/potassium persulfate system. In the aqueous solution,Meso-tetrakis(4-N-methylpyridyl)porphyrin as the luminescent reagent, potassium persulfate as the co-reactant,under the excitation of electricity produced electrochemiluminescence signal. The mechanism of the system was studied by UV vsible absorption spectrum experiment, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemiluminescence experiments. At the same time, the signal can be effectively quenched in the presence of acetaminophen.According to the good linear relationship between the quenching efficiency and the acetaminophen concentration,a new method for the rapid and effective detection of acetaminophen was established.4?Based on meso-tetra(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin/potassium persulfate system can produce electrochemiluminescence signal in the aqueous solution,The electrochemiluminescence intensity is quenched immediately as Cu2+ was added into the system, thus establishing a new method for rapid detection of Cu2+.The electrochemiluminescence intensity of meso-tetra(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin/potassium persulfate system has a good linear relationship with Cu2+ concentration. The developed method was found to be applicable for the analysis of Cu2+ in tap and river water samples.
