Grinding burn is a kind of surface defect that often occurs in the grinding process,which could lower parts surface quality and affect the normal use of parts.Severe grinding burn will form burn cracks which can cause parts scrapped directly.Therefore,the grinding burn test is an important part in the production process.At present,pickling method is commonly used in enterprises which is qualitative and detrimental to the test,,what is more,the test results error can not ingore;at the same time,and there is a risk of missing.The method of grinding burn detection based on Barkhausen effect is a nondestructive,quantitative,rapid and accurate method,what is more,it can detect made-up parts one by one.However,this method of grinding burns has not been successfully applied due to the lack of quantitative relationship between MP values and burns.To solve this problem,this paper studies the relationship between the MP value and the degree of burn,and the practical application problem of MBN method for grinding burn is solved.In this paper,the mechanism of grinding burn is studied,and the influence of grinding burn on the material properties is analyzed,which shows the material stress increase intuitively.The generation principle of Barkhausen effect is studied from the theory of magnetic domain motion of ferromagnetic materials,and the characteristic value of MBN signal is extracted.The influencing factors of MBN signal are analyzed,and the influence of stress and magnetic field on MP value is studied.The stress and magnetic field of N4 steel bearing rings are analyzed by COMSOL software.The results show that the larger the stress is,the stronger the magnetic induction intensity is,which verifies the conclusion that the MP value becomes stronger with the material stress increases.The MP value test of N4 steel bearing rings was carried out by grinding burn detector based onBarkhausen effect.The relationship between MP value and burn degree was obtained under the optimum magnetization voltage,and then we can obtain the relationship between MP value and burn degree,establish the mathematical model and verify it by stress test and pickling.The result shows that test results of grinding burn detection method based on Barkhausen effect are well consistent with the test results obtained by stress testing method and pickling method.
