Based on the minimal quantity lubrication(MQL)and combined with the the knowledge of the electrostatic spraying in this dissertation, electrostatic spraying assisted minimal quantity lubrication system is established.Using surfactant to modify the conductivity of the plant oils of minimal quantity lubrication and formulating the cutting fluid suitable for electrostatic spraying assisted minimal quantity lubrication, the performance of charging system and cutting fluid is characterized by the charge-mass ratio. This study explores the mechanism of electrostatic spraying assisted minimal quantity lubrication preliminarily. The process involves analyzing the cutting fluid of flying across the corona elecrtic field via the infrared ray,and it also uses friction and wear testing to analyze its tribological properties and XPS analysis on the wear surface.Through the cutting experiment of stainless steel, the effect on cutting parameter and spraying parameter for electrostatic spraying assisted minimal quantity lubrication is researched. The main research contents and results are as follows:1.Accu-Lube Precision Lubricant Applicator,EST705 Highly Accuracy and Stabile Electrostatic Generator and the self-designed acicular corona nozzle were grouped into the system of electrostatic spraying assisted minimal quantity lubrication.2.The commonly used anionic surfactant of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid solution was selected as the modifier in this article, which accounted for 5%of the total volume of the modified lubricating fluid whose conductivity was 6.5×10-5S/m.Mesh target method was used to measure the charged performance of the lubricants, and the results showed that the droplet of the lubricants began to be charged under the voltage of-20kV and had good charged effect under the voltage of-30kV when its charged-mass ratio was-2.0×10-1C/kg.3.Charged lubricant infrared analysis showed that the lubricant molecular polarity becomes stronger;friction and wearing test showed that electrostatic spraying was better than ordinary spraying in the performance of antifriction and anti-wearing,and the lesser lubricant fluid was,the more obvious difference was;XPS analysis showed that the lubricant content and the O concentrations of the wear surface were increased, which was easy to form adsorption film and oxidation lubrication film.4.Turning test showed that the greater cutting speed, feed rate and cutting depth were, the more obvious the advantage of electrostatic spraying was, compared with pouring cooling and ordinary spraying.Rake face injection has better machined surface quality, however flank face injection could obtain less tool wear.
