In this paper,(NH4)2HPO4 and ZrO2 as the raw material synthesize zirconium phosphate and the molar ratio is 4:3.Our attention has been focuses on the factors which can influenceing the coloring performance of nicle zirconium phosphatered red pigments.At the same time,we explores the factors that influencing the coloring performance of cobalt zirconium phosphate purple pingemnts.The zirconium phosphate is a new carrie for ceramic pigments.As a material the zirconium phosphate has excellent chemical and thermal stability is very suitable as a ceramic pigment carrier.Through XRD,TG-DTA and UV-VIS spectrophotometry has showed that the pigment's color is red becuse of the sythesis of Ni0.5Zr2(PO4)3,and Ni2+ in the specific structure is red.But the addition of Ni2O3 should not be too much.Because when the amount of Ni2O3 is over 6%,the color of pigments will be turn yellow.This means the solution of Ni2O3 is limited.When the addition of Ni2O3 is 6%,the color of pigment is red and the color is the best.The chromatic data is L*=68.53,a*=23.20 and b*=11.07.Increase of firing temperature and holding time on the pigment coloration has some impact.When they up to a certain amount will promote the growth of Zr2O(PO4)2,and it makes pigment's color darker.Therfore,the optimum firing temperature range of nikle zirconium phosphate pigments is 1300?1400?,and the better holding time range is 0?1.5h.By the experiments result which is adding different mineralizers,mineralizer on nickel zirconium phosphate pigment coloration has some impacts.Such as the experiments of ZnO additive amount,show that adding too much ZnO will make the pigment turn yellow.As a mineralizer in the nikle zirconium phosphate pigment,the optimum addition of ZnO is 0-1%,in this range the pigment can get a better color.In the cobalt zirconium phosphate pigment,when the addition of C02O3 is 5%can get the better color performance.The chromatic data is L*=60.35,a*=-34.79 and b*=55.35.The pigment's color is purple becuse of the sythesis of Co0.5Zr2(PO4)3,and Co2+ in the specific structure is purple.And through the experiment data of add different mineralizers shows that without the addition of mineralizer,the pigment can get a good color.
