Uranium ore is currently mainly used as fuel for nuclear reactors in nuclear power plants around the world.Among all types of uranium deposits,sandstone-type uranium deposit is one of the lowest and most economical.At present,most uranium deposits needed for nuclear fuel in China need to be imported from overseas.With the vigorous development of nuclear energy in China,it is more and more urgent to solve the demand of self-sufficiency of uranium resources.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the related metallogenic conditions of low-cost sandstone-type uranium deposits in China for guiding uranium prospecting and exploration.Ordos Basin contains abundant energy minerals and is also an important energy base in China.At present,a large number of high-quality large-scale in-situ leachable sandstone-type uranium deposits have been found in Ordos City,northern part of the basin.Recent studies have shown that some areas of southern basin and northern basin have the same metallogenic age,the same ore-bearing target strata,similar strata,tectonic conditions and hydrodynamic conditions.However,due to limited investment in historical exploration,no large-scale and high-quality sandstone-type uranium deposits have been found in southern basin.Based on the regional geological background of the whole Ordos basin,this paper describes the geological characteristics of the basement and caprock of the basin after analyzing and explaining the tectonic evolution and tectonic division of the basin,and shows that the uranium mineralization of the whole basin has the same metallogenic background regionally.Then we focus on the Shuanglong-Jiaoping-Binxian area in the south of the basin.By analyzing the tectonic conditions and stratigraphic characteristics of the area,we can conclude that the study area has a stable tectonic environment for uranium mineralization and a space stratum suitable for uranium enrichment and mineralization.Then we can analyze the paleohydrometeorological conditions,subsequent oxidation alteration,subsequent reduction alteration and the source of uranium for Uranium Migration and deposition.The influence of metallogenesis has screened out Shuanglong area with excellent metallogenic conditions in the study area.It directly proves the potential of discovering large-scale sandstone-type uranium deposits in Shuanglong area.After summarizing the pros and cons of metallogenic conditions in the region,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the next exploration focus and research focus of the whole research area.It is believed that Shuanglong area should expand its achievements to the West and South on the basis of the current achievements,and upgrade the level of discovered resources.
