Most of the natural surface soils are k0 consolidation, and this is an important study of soil mechanics.K0 compression is a special condition of deformation constraint, the deformation constraints are usually expressed the ratio of volume strain increment and axial strain increment, and there exists a steady state defined as asymptotic state in this case. The paper discussed the k0 compressed from the experimental and theoretical based on the research findings of others, and mainly analyzed the asymptotic state. In this paper, the strain increment ratio was overwritten for the volume strain increment and the shear strain increment ratio forms,on this basis, analysis the soil mechanical behavior under the different volume and shearing deformation ratio.Combined with the generalized nonlinear strength theory by Yao Yangping, the asymptotic state of the soil characteristics from the two-dimensional extended to three-dimensional situation and offered the three-dimensional asymptotic state criterion.Deduces the equation that the relationships between asymptotic stress ratio and strain incremental ratio, given the method to determine the parameters, and analyzed the sensitivity degree of the parameters influence on asymptotic state stress ratio. This paper also referenced to SMP criterion, defines the concept asymptotic state space plane of soils, and specifically described the concept of asymptotic state in principal stress space. In the final, the effectiveness of the criteria was proved by the test results.
