In the development of analytical science, the technique of in situ microanalysis of solid materials has always been an interesting frontier. In this study, electron probe microanalyser(EPMA)and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(LA-ICP-MS)were used to test the main elements and trace elements in the standard glass(7 MPI-DING standard materials from Max Planck Institute,4 USGS standard glasses, and 2 NIST synthetic silicate standard glasses)and natural volcanic glass samples(the East Pacific Ocean ridge volcanic glasses). In particular,a comparative study of data from stable testing over a period of time has important scientific significance for the long-term monitoring and evaluation of laboratory data quality. The major elements of MPI-DING standard materials and volcanic glasses was determined by EPMA to compare the degree of homogeneity between natural glasses and synthetic glasses. This article uses GeoLasHD 193 nm ArF excimer LA-ICP-MS to test 38 trace elements and 6 major elements(Na,Mg,Si,Ti,Fe and Mn)in 7 MPI-DING and 4 USGS standard materials,as well as 2 NIST artificial silicate glass standards. The results indicate that:1.The main elements of the MPI-DING glasses were determined by EMPA,and the RSDs of the measured data was basically within 10% compared with the recommended value data, the RE at the same time with the recommended value of the standard is also basically within 10% range. It shows that the accuracy of the test data of the electronic probe laboratory of Guilin University of Technology is fully meets the requirements of scientific research.2.The test results show that the MPI-DING glass has good homogeneity of major elements and is suitable for monitoring the data quality as a standard in the in situ microanalysis. We can see that compared with artificial glass, the major elements of natural volcanic glass are unevenly distributed, which is far from the homogeneity requirement of standard samples in the analysis and testing.Meanwhile different elements exhibit different degrees of homogeneity.3.Using LA-ICP-MS to test trace elements and some major elements of MPI-DING glasses and USGS glasses.Compare the obtained major and trace data of the MPI-DING glass with the recommendation, the RE of most elements is better than 10%.At the same time, compares the measured values of the major and trace elements of the USGS standard glasses with those of other laboratories, the RE of most elements are within 10%,shows a relatively high degree of accuracy and precision.Except for a few elements of individual samples, the RSDs of most elements is less than 10% range under 40 ?m beam spot conditions. It is worth pointing out that RSDs decreased with the increase of element concentration, the large changes in RE and RSDs occur mainly in samples with very low concentration of this element. At the same time,micro-heterogeneity was found in the individual elements of several existing reference materials.4.The study collated data of trace elements in NIST SRM610 and NIST SRM612 from the LA-ICP-MS laboratory over a 9-month period,RSDs for almost all elements are in the 10% range, shows a excellent precision and high accuracy(-10%<RE<10%),long-term data quality is stable. This study proves that our lab's LA-ICP-MS systems can quantitative analysis of trace elements and some major elements of silicate glasses in high accuracy and high precision.
