The Analysis Of Patient Choice Behavior Based On Discrete Choice Experiment

Health care service is a top priority to the national economy and the people's livelihood.Thus,our country enlarges the investment to the medical service and deepens the medical reform.The basic medical security system has achieved universal coverage basically,greatly easing the medical burden of the people.But it is undeniable that our country's medical service still exists many problems,such as "difficult and expensive" phenomenon has not been fundamentally solved,and "large hospitals are overcrowded,small hospitals are empty" phenomenon meets the eye everywhere.These problems have not been solved for a long time,not only supply-side reasons exist,but also demand-side factors can not be neglected.In order to solve these problems fundamentally,we must take measures from the supply and demand aspects at the same time.As the core of health care service relationship,patients' choice behavior have important influence on the operation of health care systems.Only by scientific analysis of the patients' choice behavior,can we provide medical services to the needs of the patients,and improve the utilization of resources.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the patients' choice behavior and to guide the medical treatment behavior.In this study,discrete choice experiments were conducted in Beijing of different health care service providers to collect data.Data were analyzed using Stata to describe the patients' choice behavior.The results showed that the grade of health care service providers is the most important factor to influence patients' choice behavior and demographic characteristics such as age,marital status,and career types also have important influence on patients' choice behavior.On the basis,this study classifies the patients and health care service providers to further analyse the patients' choice behavior.For patients with chronic disease and high frequency of visits,geographical and time convenience are the most important factors.For patients who choose the basic health care service providers,higher convenience and shorter waiting time are the key factors,while for patients who choose the high grade health care service providers,high level medical service is vital.On the basis of the patient's choice behavior,this study put forward the strategy of patient triage.In different grades of health care service providers,mainly through the reasonable guidance of patients with chronic diseases and high frequency of visits to choose the basic health care service providers preferentially.In the same health care service probider,improving the registration difficulty and reducing the waiting time by analyzing historical demographic characteristics of patients to shorten the waiting time of the patients.In addition,by analyzing and comparing,it is confirmed that mixed logit model is more suitable for the analysis of choice behavior problem,and further enrich the relevant theory of discrete choice model.
