Based on the previous research,we analyzed quantitatively the fractal dimension trend of lineaments in Guangxi region by combining the box-counting method in fractal geometric theory with Mapgis?Arcgis?Access?Excel?Surfer those computer technology and the geotectonic evolution has been discussed.The results are as follows:The fractal dimension?D?of fault structure in 1:500000 map?fault structure and folds in 1:200000 map is 1.2661?1.3346?1.3025 respectively,the square?R2?of correlation index are more than 0.99,which suggest that the lineaments in Guangxi region have complex structure in space?strong tectonic activities?high maturity of tectonics and most fault structure have shear property.The fractal dimension?D?of fault structure in NE?NW?SN?EW direction is 1.0136?0.9908?0.9807?0.9817 respectively,and DNE>DNW>DEW>DSN with the square?R2?of correlation index are more than 0.99,which indicate that fault structure in NE?NW direction are dominant and show the evolutionary relationship in this area.The fractal dimension?D?of fault structure and folds in 1:200000 map ranges from1.1596 to 1.4683,from 1.1173 to 1.4873,with the square?R2?of correlation index are more than 0.98;The fractal dimension?D?of fault structure and folds in 1:200000 subsegment map ranges from 0.7 to 1.6.In some part of the research area the fractal dimension have regional variations and Multifractal features and also have a large span in horizontal and vertical grid which index that tectonic evolutions have a complex movement and multistage history.In addition,the lineaments shows unbalancedness and nonuniformity.The fractal dimension of fault structure both in 1:500000 map and 1:200000 map show that the eastern north?west and eastern south of Guangxi area have the high fractal dimension with extending toward NE?NW?NE direction.The eastern south of Guangxi area has the most obvious trend with two high fractal dimension belt,which respectively respond to Bobai-cenxi fault and Lingshan-tengxian fault;There is no obvious trend in the middle Guangxi which shows no preferred orientation of fault structure.The power two and power three trend of the fractal dimension of fault structure both in1:500000 map shows that there is a obvious turning point around Nanning Guangxi,which could indicate the Pacific tectonic movement in NE and the Palaeoasian movement had a strong impact on Guangxi region and their joint points could be just around Nanning region.As take the boundary of Guilin-liuzhou?laibin?fault to the north with high fractal dimension trending toward NE direction,and to the south with no obvious change of fractal dimension.Taking consider of the fractal dimension trend?deep geophysical field information and tectonic evolution characteristics in this area,we suggest that Guilin-liuzhou?laibin?fault could possibly be the boundary between Yangtze and Huaxia block at the southwest section during the Mesozoic.
