Based on computational tomography, this paper introduces the concept of computational tomography into surface feature detection and designs the onedimensional projection sampling optical gaze tomography with the concept of conical-slit scanning imaging. The system converts the filter function timing the projection function in the Fourier domain into a discrete convolution of the corresponding function in the spatial domain with the reconstruction theory of tomography, which solves the difficulty of the interpolation in the Fourier domain and the artifacts caused by the data error. An optical modulation method has been proposed innovatively to modulate the two-dimensional image into the onedimensional projection integral signal through the combination of cylindrical mirror and imaging mirror set.The optical characteristics and signal attenuation of the optical modulation system is analyzed by using ZEMAX to optimize the modulation model. In order to achieve multi-angle sampling,a rotating device for image is designed and the equation of the image distorting trajectory caused by the triaxial misalignment of the prism is studied based on the optical characteristics of the Pechan prism. This device can enhance the sampling stability of the system comparing to conical-slit scanning. The stepper motor and sampling camera are controlled by computer to achieve the device calibration, data sampling, data conditioning and image reconstruction automatically.Through the experiment of detection of the US military F-117 aircraft model,it has been concluded that the Sinc filter is superior to the R-L filter in the anti-noise performance, which can significantly reduce the ringing effect and noising.Compared with the existing imaging methods, the system has more advantages in stability and noise resistance without requiring the translational motion of the detector. This system only needs sensor size of 1 × N,which can significantly reduce the manufacturing cost of the detector and the size of the detector device in the field of infrared tomography and precision instruments in the future.
