The brain is the most complex organ of the human body, and different brain regions control different functions of the human body.Once the brain is damaged,it will lead to different degrees of brain nerve function damage.Patients with brain injury generally have dysfunction in sports, cognition, social activities, etc.,which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. If the patient's brain damage is serious, even if it can survive,it can only recover a limited level of consciousness, and there is still a serious problem of consciousness disorder.Correct detection of the state of consciousness of patients with consciousness is of great significance for clinical treatment and prognosis planning. At present, the traditional behavioral scale is used clinically to evaluate the state of consciousness in patients with consciousness. This method is too subjective and lacks reliability. As an emerging intelligent technology,brain-computer interface mainly uses EEG signals for evaluation in the field of consciousness detection research, which provides a more objective and reliable method for clinical practice. The main research work of this paper is to design a brain-computer interface system based on P300 and SSVEP to assist the consciousness assessment of patients with consciousness disorders. The consciousness detection system based on the brain-computer interface proposed in this paper includes the realization of two types of consciousness detection paradigms: P300 single-modal paradigm,P300 and SSVEP multi-modal paradigm.Among them, the P300 single-modal paradigm uses three kinds of experimental stimuli: face photos, digital pictures and emotional videos, and the multi-modal paradigm uses face photos as the main visual stimuli. In all paradigms, the patient needs to complete the task of following the command to identify and set goals. The system detects the target through the EEG potential to determine the level of the patient's ability to follow the command.A total of 43 patients participated in the state of consciousness detection experiment designed in this paper, and 16 patients can use the brain-computer interface system designed in this paper to perform the task of obeying the command, and at the same time produced the relevant EEG signal response. This indicates that the brain-computer interface system proposed in this paper can detect the cognitive function and consciousness remaining in these 16 patients. And in the prognosis of follow-up patients, the prognosis of these 16 patients performed well, which further proves that the brain-computer interface awareness detection system proposed in this paper has certain accuracy, applicability and effectiveness.
