Mount Tai is not only a world natural and cultural heritage site, but also a national geological park. The diverse mountain microclimate, biological resources, topography and soil matrix make Mount Tai show obvious succession rules in the vertical direction, with the southern slope of Mount Tai being the most obvious. However, most of the vegetation in Mount Tai is formed by natural succession after artificial planting, with strong human interference factors. The altitudinal belts is inconsistent with the ideal vertical band spectrum in the warm temperate zone region to which Mount Tai belongs.Domestic and foreign scholars still focus on the geological and human values, and the study of vegetation has not received due attention. In this study, the southern slope of Mount Tai(Hongmen,Zhongtianmen and Nantianmen scenic spots)is selected as the research area.Combined with the data of soil type, climate characteristics, topographic and geomorphic division and shrub small class survey, the potential altitudinal belts of the study area is analyzed by factor analysis,Mann-Whitney U test, geographic detector etc.Determine the boundary line between deciduous broad-leaved forest zone and coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest zone, coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest zone and temperate coniferous forest zone on the southern slope of Mount Tai under field conditions.A clear understanding of the corresponding relationships among geomorphology, soil, vegetation and climate in vertical differentiation of mountain regions can provide more scientific and reasonable references for the protection and restoration of soil, vegetation, geology etc and the stability and maintenance of ecological system in the follow-up Mount Tai World Natural Heritage Site. The research results of potential altitudinal belts on the southern slope of Mount Tai are as follows:1.Warm temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest belt. The southern slope of Mount Tai is distributed in a warm temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest.Arbor species mainly include Quercus acutissima Carruth.,Quercus variabilis Bl.,Robinia pseudoacacia L.,etc.They are mainly distributed in low mountains and hilly areas with an altitude range of 300-700 m.The annual average temperature, accumulated temperature ? 0 ? and accumulated temperature ? 10 ? are respectively 9.94?12.39 ?,3988.04?4671.68 ?,3437.76?4142.98 ?.The soil types are Acidi,Albi-Udic Argosols,Udic-Orthic Primosols. The undergrowth shrub types are mainly Lespedeza bicolor Turcz.and Vitex negundo L.var.heterophylla(Franch.)Rehd..2.Mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest belt. The transitional zone is a mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest zone. The main mixed types are pine and oak forests, such as Pinus tabuliformis Carr.,Pinus densiflora Sieb.et Zucc.,Quercus acutissima Carruth.,Quercus variabilis Bl.,Robinia pseudoacacia L.,etc, which are mainly distributed in low mountain areas with an altitude range of 700?1000 m.The annual average temperature, accumulated temperature ? 0 ? and accumulated temperature ? 10 ? are respectively 7.49?9.94 ?,3304.39?3988.04 ? and 2732.55?3437.76 ?.The soil types are Acidi-Udic Cambosols and Udic-Orthic Primosols, and undergrowth shrub types are mainly Lespedeza bicolor Turcz.,Vitex negundo L.var.heterophylla(Franch.)Rehd.and Spiraea salicifolia L..3.Temperate coniferous forest zone. The top vertical belt is temperate coniferous forest zone, which is mainly distributed in middle altitude mountain area from 1000 m to the summit of a mountain.the main tree types are Pinus tabuliformis Carr.and Pinus armandii Franch..The annual average temperature,? 0 ? accumulated temperature and ? 10 ? accumulated temperature range from 5.04 to 7.49 ?,2620.75?3304.39 ? and 2027.33?2732.55 ? respectively. The soil types are Hapli-Udic Cambosols,Hapli-Perudic Cambosols and Bori-Perudic Cambosols. The undergrowth shrub types are mainly medicinal shrubs such as Nitraria tangutorum Bobr.,Berberis thunbergii DC.,Rhamnus parvifolia Bunge, and mixed ornamental shrubs such as Rhododendron simsii Planch,Malus spectabilis,Lespedeza bicolor Turcz.and Spiraea salicifolia L.,etc.
