The paper is based on the IHS database, supplemented by other literatures consulted, and uses the relevant theoretical knowledge of sedimentary rocks and sedimentary facies, plate tectonic theory and lithofacies paleogeography, the Mesozoic lithofacies paleogeography characteristics and evolution in the Eastern Mediterranean tectonic domain(EMTD)have been revealed. There are 406 basic tectonic units in the Eastern Mediterranean tectonic zone, which can be divided into 5 tectonic-stratigraphic units:(1)basin group in the south margin of the Eastern European platform, the basement is Precambrian metamorphic rock, the Mesozoic is unconformity overlaid on the upper Paleozoic, and the distribution of Triassic is limited.(2)In the Neoproterozoic Paleozoic deformation zone on the south Eastern European platform, the basement is Precambrian metamorphic rock, and the Mesozoic is conformity on the upper Paleozoic. The Mesozoic is dominated by mudstone, sandstone and carbonate rock, while the Black Sea basin is a residual ocean basin with Cretaceous to Paleogene ocean crust.(3)The basement of Neoproterozoic Paleozoic deformation zone of Adria-Pelagic is the Variscan metamorphic rocks, the Permian-Cenozoic is continuously deposited, and the Mesozoic mainly develops the carbonate rocks and mudstones of shore shallow marine facies.(4)In the Meso-Cenozoic deformation zone of the northern margin of the eastern Mediterranean, the basement is Hercynian metamorphic rocks, the Mesozoic unconformity on which is mainly carbonate and clastic rocks of shore shallow marine facies.(5)The eastern Mediterranean is a residual ocean basin based on the Jurassic ocean crust, and the basement of the basin group in the northeast of the African continent is Precambrian metamorphic rock,on which Neoproterozoic-Cenozoic is developed. The Mesozoic is mainly shallow marine. There are 15 types of Lithofacies assemblage in the EMTD,including clastic rocks, carbonate rocks and evaporites.Meanwhile, there are 8 palaeogeography in the EMTD,including alluvial area,semi-deep sea area, island arc, shallow sea area,Lake area, shore shallow sea + salt marsh, coastal area and uplift denudation area. The area uplift denudation of Triassic is the largest, which is mainly distributed in the basin groups of southern margin of Eastern European platform and the northeastern margin of African continent. The deformation zone of Adria-Pelagic Neoproterozoic Paleozoic develops shore shallow sea + salt marsh, and other areas developed shallow sea area.In Jurassic, the area of alluvial is the largest, which is mainly distributed in the basin group of the northeast marginal of African continent; The area of shallow sea area is expanded, and the uplift denudation area and shore shallow sea + salt marsh are relatively reduced. In the early Cretaceous and late Cretaceous, the area of shallow sea is the largest, and the area of uplift denudation is reduced, mainly distributed in the southern basin group of the Eastern European platform, while the area of alluvial is relatively reduced, mainly developed in the Meso-Cenozoic deformation zone of the northern margin of the Eastern Mediterranean. The lithofacies paleogeographic distribution and evolution of Mesozoic in the EMTD are controlled by the evolution of the paleoTethys ocean, the middle Tethys ocean and the new Tethys ocean.
