Based on the analyses of the main development contradictions currently faced by the research area, fine stratigraphic division and correlation was completed and stratigraphic framework was established by applying the sub-layer correlation method of "cycle correlation-hierarchical control-whole area closure".Based on the research of sedimentary facies,a "microgeological" sedimentary system was established and the reservoir sedimentary characteristics and plane distribution law of the research area were clarified.Based on the research of reservoir microstructure, the reservoir microstructure characteristics of different periods were clarified.Based on the comprehensive analyses of drilling, coring, logging, oil and water well testing and daily production dynamic data, the microstructure, microfaults, microdeposition and microphysical properties of the strata were studied. The oil reservoir structure and fault system development and their impact on trap and oil reservoir formation and reservoir properties were analyzed at ultra-high water cut development stage by applying the dynamic and static combination method. On the basis of the above research, the impact of sedimentary microfacies and microstructures on the oil and gas distribution was thoroughly discussed, the remaining oil distribution was re-recognized and the distribution law of remaining oil in the layer, between layers and on the plane was clarified.Further, based on the distribution law of remaining oil,it was proposed to plan and deploy “target well pattern” by applying "vector well patterns" and excavate the remaining oil at the top of rhythm layer by horizontal wells. Finally, the technical policy boundaries of different stimulation measures were thoroughly studied in order to effectively control the water cut of production wells and improve the ultimate recovery factor of the research area. This paper laid emphasis on the combination of geological research theory and field practice.Aimed at the characteristics and difficulties of the research area, the reservoir numerical simulation technology was used to classify and weigh the various dynamic and static factors that affect development and production.Based on a seamless and efficient connection between research topics and production practices, the remaining economic recoverable reserves were increased, the “well pattern grid” layout of the research area was improved, and the subsequent development countermeasures were scientifically and reasonably predicted. This thesis had achieved expected effect, since based on its research results, the overall development effect of the research block was improved and economic and efficient development of the oil field was realized. In addition,it had provided valuable references for the geological research model of other similar blocks to stimulate potential and increase production.
