The rapid development of information technology has promoted the deepening of bioinformatics research. The study of the evolution and propagation of influenza virus has always been one of the hot issues in bioinformatics research.Since the first isolation of the influenza virus from human body in 1933,the influenza virus has caused epidemics of different scales. The outbreak of H5N1 avian influenza in Hong Kong in 1997 was the first time that H5N1 avian influenza virus was found to infect human and cause human death. After that, the H5 subtype avian influenza virus began to spread worldwide.Since 2003,H5N1 and H5N6 subtype avian influenza have continued to infect humans, and some studies have found that H5N1 avian influenza can evolve into propagation among mammals, raising concerns about the upcoming influenza pandemic. In this paper, the human H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza virus since 1997 is used as the research object, and the evolution and propagation characteristics of avian influenza virus are studied by using bioinformatics method to process the virus sequence data. The research result provides suggestions and theoretical support for exploring the trend of the epidemic and the formulating prevention and control programs. The main research work of this paper includes the following aspects:(1)A method for numerical characterization of protein sequences based on the frequency of occurrence of existing-k-words,combined with the method for measuring the correlation of digital signals,is used to calculate the similarity of protein sequences. The validity of the method was verified by using the protein sequence of the ?-globin gene of 11 classical species as a sample.(2)This paper proposes a method of community detection based on partitioning stability, which deals with the division of networks with complex degrees of association among various individuals in the real world. The validity of the method was verified by comparing the protein sequence similarity data set of the ?-globin gene of 11 classical species with the classical community detection method ——FN algorithm.(3)Analysis of the evolution and propagation characteristics of the global H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza virus since 1997,based on the time and geographical information of the human H5N1 avian influenza virus sequence. The protein sequences of HA and NA genes of human H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza virus collected since 1997 are extracted and classified by method of protein sequence analysis and method of community detection. The outbreaks and sequence site mutations of avian influenza viruses in different communities were visualized to explore the evolutionary mutation and propagation characteristics of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza.
