Based on the theories of sedimentary,reservoir,well logging geology,thin sections and logging,ancient geomorphology,combined with using the methods of continuum analysis,the characteristics and mian controlling factors of the Ordovician carbonate karst reservoir in Dongpu area were studied deeply.Subsequently,the distribution of favorable reservoirs was predicted.The study results revealed that sedimentary facies,diagenesis,tectonic activity,palaeogeomorphology and palaeocurrent are the main control factors of the formation of favorable karst reservoirs.The study also suggests that Yili formation,Liangjiashan formation,the lower part of Majiagou formation and Fengfeng formation are the favorable reservoirs.The study indicates that areas superimposed by the grain bank,dolomitic flat,gypsodolomite flat,fault belt,dolomitization area,penecontemporaneous karstification area,epigenic karstification area and buried karstification area are predicted as the most favorable reservoir zone,and the studied region may be divided into three types from different superimpose areas.This conclusion can provided to support the develpoment of geothermal exploration.
