| At present, the main trend of soil classification is soil taxonomy based on diagnostic horizons and diagnostic characteristics.Quantification, standardization and unification have become a major trend of soil classification and development in the world. The soil in southwest Sichuan is a representative soil in the subtropics of China. In the past, the classification of soil in Southwest Sichuan is mainly based on soil genetic classification, and soil taxonomy based research is not yet fully developed. The object of this study is representative soil samples from 43 sections of 209 horizons in southwest Sichuan.Through the field survey, sample collection and laboratory analysis, according to the Keys to Chinese Soil Taxonomy(Third Edition),the soil classification in the Chinese soil system classification is determined through the diagnostic characteristics, the diagnostic horizons and the soil type,so as to provide scientific basis for the further enrichment and improvement of the Chinese soil taxonomy. The results of the study show that:(1)according to the diagnostic horizons and diagnostic characteristics of soil profiles in the study area,5 orders,9 suborders,15 groups and 19 subgroups were retrieved. The five guoups are Cambosols,Argosols,Ferrosols,Histosols and Primosols.(2)according to the different soil physical properties and chemical properties of different soil profiles,43 soil series were divided in the study area,of which 29 soil series were established in the Cambosols,3 soil series were established in the Argosols,3 soil systems were established in the Ferrosols,1 soil series was established in the Histosols, and 7 soil series were established in the Primosols. |
