Microchannel plate(MCP)detectors have been widely applied in various physical experiments to detect the impact positions of charged particles(electrons and ions).Position sensitive MCP detectors can be used to determine the charge states of scattered ions in ion-atom collisions.In this thesis,a one-dimensional circular radial position sensitive MCP detector is designed for a cylindrical mirror analyzer(CMA).The detector is equipped with a new type of ring-strip resistive anode and contains a pair of integrated charge sensitive spectroscopy amplifiers.By integrating amplifiers into the detector,the antiinterference ability of the detector system has been greatly improved.Am-241 ? and Fe-55 X-ray sources are used to test the performance of the detector.The results show that the system noise is about 2 mVrms and the position resolution is up to 0.2 mm.By overcoming some difficulties,the CMA experimental terminal has been also built.The charge state distribution of the scattered ions with a large angle in ion-atom collisions will be measured through the CMA.The present work lays a foundation for the future experiment.
