The intellectualization of bit manufacturing depends on the development and perfection of theories and methods.It's necessary to implant the latest bit design philosophy and approaches into the system of intellectualization.After investigating those research status at home and abroad in recent years,the author establishes a design method of PDC bit crown,by analyzing and evaluating flat-bottom crown,bullet-bottom crown and fishtail-bottom crown from the aspects of wear pattern,broken rock energy consumption and debris-carrying on the basis of theories aimed at equal wearing.An approach of teeth distribution is proposed according to the bottom hole coverage model and partly-strengthening theory.This paper also builds an optimization mathematical model of blade profile and calculate the side force of PDC bit to minimize the resultant force of bit-lateral force by adjusting the location of bit blades.Depended on those methods and models,an individualized design software of PDC bit is programmed within VB language.It puts the improvement of the drill manufacturing method into consideration and consummates the output parameters of preexisting PDC bit design software,which puts the design of PDC bit into automation and computerization and greatly increases the efficiency of bit design.
