The recycling of scrap metal is an effective means of saving energy, reducing environmental pollution and promoting sustainable development. In order to save the cost of scrap metal recycling, scrap metal should be sorted and recycled by type. This paper studied the related content of waste non-ferrous metal identification and sorting system based on dual-energy X-ray transmission. The problems existing in the practical application of the sorting system are analyzed. The sorting system material identification algorithm and material separation control algorithm are further researched.First of all, this paper analyzes the basic algorithm of dual-energy X-ray transmission identification, and analyzes the R-value and low transmission signal curve algorithm and the algorithm about curve fitting of R-value based on composite numerical integration.Aiming at the small recognizable thickness range and low efficiency of existing recognition algorithms,a zone division recognition algorithm is proposed and its accuracy and efficiency is verified by experiments.Secondly, this paper analyzes the material separation system control algorithm, proposes a cyclic scanning algorithm to solve the low real-time and accuracy of the existing algorithms. This algorithm uses multithreaded programming technology under multi-core system, combined with thread affinity, priority setting and other methods, enables accurate and real-time control of the material separation system. The real-time performance of the algorithm is verified by obtaining timestamps. Finally, this paper develops the sorting system control software based on the zone division recognition algorithm and the cyclic scanning algorithm, designs the sorting rate test methods. The sorting system was verified by the experiments in this paper.According to the results of the studies above, the sorting system developed in this paper can effectively identify and sort waste non-ferrous metals.
